Panniers for 2025 V85TT?
« on: September 05, 2024, 07:46:56 PM »
Has anyone found a source for panniers, either OEM or aftermarket, for the new V85TT?  My dealer has none available unfortunately.

I really wish manufacturers would make things like this compatible from year to year.
Good luck

I emailed Givi US a few weeks ago. I got a reply from a rep who said the have mounts in Italy but they were on holiday for the month of August. They expect them over here in a few months. Thats all I know at this point. SW Motech shows no mounts for Guzzi. Too bad as I have a couple of sets of their Trax cases.
I have some soft bags but the high muffler kills that idea.

I had emailed Shad USA about what they had for the new V85TT.  No mounting system available w/ no idea if/when they might come up with a mounting system for their existing panniers.

They stopped coming with bags?  Bummer.  The reason I and many others bought the Guardia D'Onore model is because it was a bargain due to all the accessories already installed.  I was going to go for a red frame until I did the math.

The Travel comes with plastic bags. Guzzi doesn’t have metal panniers yet or at least the mounts and no one else seems to have mounts for theirs.

There were some pics from one of the shows that showed the bike with the Terra luggage and top case.  If there are holes in the aluminum subframe that match up to the older style frame, maybe there are no new frames needed.
If you can beat them, arrange to have them beaten.

Interesting this was posted 10 months ago and shows the V85TT with aluminum bags. Anyone in Europe seen these bags yet? Three dealers I have contacted here in the US say they are not available.

It figures!  Moto Guzzi
Do the aluminum unobtaniums have more capacity than the plastic bags on the Travel (that have the capacity of a pair of HB Juniors...60L)?  Curious minds want to know.

A good friend of mine adapted a set of '23 v85 bags on his new '25. He fabricated a couple of small brackets and says it's not a big job.

That'd be great if those big aluminum unobtainium jobs will fit the older v85's with slight/minor mods.

Art, if you come to the Ky. rally, you can see the bags mounted. Brian will be there.

Unfortunately those are for the pre-2025 year models.  I found this on the Hepco-Becker overseas website (but not yet available):
https://www.hepco-becker.de/en/My-bike/MOTO-GUZZI/V-85-TT-Strada-Travel-2024/

Yeah, for the US 2025 (or 2024 Europe) models. The red tubular frame work is the tip off. If Guzzi had a lick of sense, they would have designed the cast pieces to accept the older saddle boxes. Maybe they did but I haven't seen the new model so I don't know.

@ucwinters. Do you have a new one? Have you looked at the bottom of the right/left side casting (near where the muffler is supported) to see if there are the 4 threaded holes?

ridingron, yep I have the 2025 yr model.  On the bottom castings (R & L sides) there are 2 threaded holes that I can see.  Impatiently waiting for something to show up stateside that looks like panniers & racks for the new model.

Outside chance department: have you tried contacting Happy Trails out of Boise. They manufacture their own aluminum boxes on site. Their website lags behind their inventory I think due to the high demand for their products. I bought a top box off them at their factory for of all things, a Harley Road King.  It’s only a phone call you’re out of if they can’t help.

Just sent them an email.  They don't have Moto Guzzi listed as an option.

I am also looking for side cases for a new 2025 V85TT. The Urban Side Cases from MG can be had but they are not my favorite. Shad makes a Terra 36 case that looks pretty nice but no mount available yet. I was told by Shad Canada that they are working on a mount. Givi Trekker 33 and 46 Monokey is another case that looks good. They can be used as side cases as well as a top case. I like having a top case for driving around town but prefer side cases for trips. Leave the top case on for day to day and then mount the pair when traveling. This set up would be a good one in my opiniion. Givi shows the mount on their website but I haven't found anybody that stocks it. They also show a quick release option for the mounts so that the mounts can be disconnected from the bike when not in use. Nice.
For Aluminum top loaders the Bumot looks pretty nice but heavier than I want. Any other suggestons out there?

Hepco Becker now has racks for the 2025 V85s. They also have number of cases that mount to them. See Rocker’s post above for their link.

I have SW motech dusc cases and model specific pro racks fitted. The cases are very robust and the tracks can be either permanently mounted or quick release.
Purchased as a complete kit:
2 cases
Pro pannier racks
Fitting kits
Lock kit

For me in Ireland they were about €400 cheaper than the MG cases.

I have TRAX cases on two other bikes and would have gotten the SW Motech mounts for my V85 had they been offered.

For the budget minded the HB racks would pare nicely with Tusk V2 aluminium panniers. Simple hockey puck mounting system, and all in for around $500.

Hepco Becker racks:
https://www.motomachines.com/hepco-becker-side-carrier-moto-guzzi-v85tt

side cases:
https://www.motomachines.com/shop-by-product/motorcycle-luggage/motorcycle-side-cases?product=1088

+100 on this. Love HB bags. The standard racks may not be great looking if you ride with bags off, but they are stout, and universal with other racks. If you ride with bags off on a regular basis, the CBOW mount is much better, and they are finally making decent sized bags for the CBOW.

If I were buying a V85, or even the Stelvio, I'd pass on the Guzzi stuff, spend the $$ for HB racks and just swap over the Xplorer bags I am using on the Stornello TT.

FWIW, Moto Machines also sells on Ebay, and you can often get away with free shipping and no tax by comparing. The guys at MM are great to work with. Very responsive and user freindy.

+1 on Moto Machines. They had shipped my Xplorer bags with different locks. Made it very smooth to exchange for a pair that matched the other bag. Also because I pre ordered before the racks actually arrived here I got a 10% discount on the whole order.
Only deal with the Xplorer bags is they are short and wide. Forget lane splitting even if I dared to do it.
