V9 Roamer speedometer unit issue
« on: September 11, 2024, 04:20:17 PM »
Helping a friend figure out how to fix a V9 Roamer. The issue is the 5 amp fuse to the speedometer unit is blowing, leaving the bike totally immobilized. No dash lights or anything else. Has anyone run across this before, and if so, what was the fix?

I have no experience with this. The Triumph T10s's have a similar problem. These are caused by wires chaffing and breaking at the steering stem. In these cases it is caused by the harness  being too short. Could it be the same kind of problem.

Unplug the harness from the back of the speedo and see it it still blows. If so it’s a harness wiring issue. If not it’s a bad unit.
