Suggestions please for the easiest/safest way to remove the "MOTO GUZZI" badges off the sides of a T-3 tank?

There are two versions.  Not sure which version you have.  Some tanks have blind holes in the wall of the tank and the badge has spring pins which lock into these holes.  Other tanks have flat walls and a double-faced tape adheres the badge to the tank.  My 87 SPII had the latter tape version.  See if you can run some thread or thin fishing line behind the badge to confirm your attachment.  I used thin wire to slice through the foam portion of the double faced tape.  Others with the pin type of attachment will chime in to report removal technique.  Please report back which version  you have.

Think crowbar, need something thin that you can slide near the pins and leverage it up little by little. I used a combination of things, including little plastic tools that came with iPhone repair kits:

The T has the same pin held badge. I think I used a small screwdriver or putty knife to work underneath the badge, from either end, to slowly lever it out. Don't remember having any problems, but it was thirty years ago and I was repainting the tank, so didn't have to worry about scratching it.

Tiny spring bush with "one way" teeth in the tank hole. Badge pins press in easily. Come out a bit harder. Just apply pulling pressure near the pins until badge comes free. Worked about 5 years ago on my '77 T3. Badges went back in easily after repaint.

MG Cycle stocks replacement spring bushings.

Gently, slowly.....only pull near pins and try not to bend/change the shape of the badge else it won't lie flat to tank when you refit
