I want to thank everyone who offered advice and guidance on my recent questions around the Breva 1100. We did drive down to Seattle / Bellevue and I took the Breva for a test ride, absolutely loved it, so it came home with me. I had a nice 100 mile coldish ride home, mostly freeway and high speed.
My observations so far:
I immediately loved the riding position. I'm tall and had questions about the ergonomics, looked into lowering pegs and raising handlebars, but I'm actually loving it the way it is. It fits me really well and makes me smile. Very different than the Multistrada I'm riding now. The small windscreen works very well to keep air off of my torso and there's no turbulance up around my helmet. Only downside (and I remembered this after the fact) is that, like the Norge, the pegs are more forward and standing up on the pegs to shift butt position is an art form. My knee is still complaining about my awkward attempt to do that.
Seat: by far the most comfortable factory seat I've ever encountered. Wow.
Shifting: quite easy. Finding neutral is not easy, though I think I've got it down now, it's kind of a gentle pushing to ease it into neutral. Gearing is a bit tall in first, but it is what it is.
Clutch: engages when the lever is nearly fully out. I'll get used to it. There's free play there, so it's adjusted properly (I assume).
Headlight: I assume I need to trim the wick and add more whale oil to get more light out of it. Well, I don't plan on much night riding, but that may change.
The motor is fantastic. It's in a perfect state of tune, and it is absolutely wonderful.
Tires are newish Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart III. Really nice in the cold and damp so far. Loads of grip, and seems very well suited to the bike.
The bike is a one owner bike, all service records available, it was well looked after by Moto International (rip) and Optimum Motor Sports (Aprilia/MG dealer). 21k miles.
