Fools On A Hill
« on: March 16, 2025, 11:07:06 AM »
Some of you may remember that many years ago my wife Ann and I started, with the help of Jim King, a Guzzi/motorcycle campout on Mt Nebo.  First we did it in March then April Fools weekend.  Ann got sick and I let it go.  Oddly enough I recently got a call from the regional BMW club, Naturally Beemers, who plan on doing it again this time the weekend of April 4-6 again on Mt Nebo.  We used to have a good time.  Since it started as a Guzzi event, Guzzis should be there.  I will.  Hope to see some of you. I remember an event you put on in Colorado

Mount Nebo State Park is in west-central Arkansas.  The Fools on a Hill rally/campout was held there for many years.  It kind of faded away, but seems to be coming back.  It's mostly been a blend of Guzzi and BMW riders, and a few sport-touring riders.  https://www.arkansasstateparks.com/parks/mount-nebo-state-park

For want of a fun Colorado Guzzi campout, back in 2013 I hosted the first Wild Guzzi Western Adventure in Ouray Colorado.  I planned to host it every other year.  We were at Cripple Creek in 2015.  When I realized I was not going to be able to regularly host it, I asked Alan (alanp here on WG) to pick up the reins and the Guzzi Western Adventure has been held regularly since, alternating with the Utah campout.
