I liked the review!  Seemed a little short but sounded like she liked the bike.

Pretty much the my impressions on my demo ride. Two things out of her control were the straight flat route and smooth pavement so she really couldn’t appreciate the handling nor the stiff suspension on bumpy roads.

Can any of you guys that owns these bikes advise if a larger touring type windshield is offered for the V85?

"90* V twin, what I mean by that is the motor is mounted sideways"

No, that's not what you mean whatsoever

I guess everything is relative but the stock suspension on my V85TT is very soft, more so than any other bike in my garage except the R100GS, which in stock form has similarly soft forks.

The V85TT handles pretty well if you forgive the long wheelbase that came with no torque reaction linkage and the associated long swingarm.  The handling reminds me of a 70s Ducati in this way.

Interesting. It is indeed relative but in my case its stiffer than anything I currently own plus others I no longer own. Closest comparison is my TigerXC 800, firm but still compliant. My KLR with Moab shock and Racetech emulators floats over the hardest bumps. I speed up for RR tracks. The V85 would be fine for a smooth racetrack. Not so good for rough gravel roads or single track.

The v85 has great suspenders front and rear. Take the time to adjust them properly! They will work fine on almost any road with any rider but from the factory the adjustments are poor for most. My Georgia bike is fairly firm because our roads are very smooth. My Az. bike is super soft because the roads in S. Az. suck! I've been from 250# to 185 and it works with both.

Like the V85TT or not the $12,690 price tag is attractive and a $1,250 cash incentive unitl 3/31 makes puts it inline with the Suzuki DE800 and you don't have a parallel twin.

As for the review really hard to glean anything from a sedate chaperoned in town pavement ride.

Good grief.  She lost me at "giggly".  Seriously?  have you ever been on a motorcycle?
And the comment about lugging and 1st gear when she's not 100 feet out of the parking lot?  I've been to that shop.

Not trying to sound like a grumpy old guy but these "anybody can review on "UTube" productions are useless.

Suspension?  How about you adjust it, or else just stop about "road feel".  The entire thing is borderline useless.  Cornering?  really?  She can tell after 4 right 90 degree turns?

Guess I AM that grumpy old guy after all................ ......

Absolutely love it. Good to see some good "civilian" press on the bikes. And geez, Louise, can we puh-leeeze stop with the oldfogeyisms? For the love of Mike--isn't it good that this dealership is giving people some good inspiration?

As for her comment about first gear, that's one of my complaints about my '22.  Didn't become apparent until a nice hot day going slow on a forest service road.  At really low speeds in first my V85 was quite unhappy where my friend's 1200 Tiger was fine.  Shuddering, lugging and pinging.
