New Tires
« on: May 13, 2025, 07:33:53 PM »
Finally got going on getting the new tires I bought last winter for the 17' V9 Bobber put on. Glad I mounted a Hepco Becker center stand on it soon after picking it up in 2019 as a new left over from Cadre Cycle. At 8K miles the tires showed a fair amount of wear but being 8 years old I will feel better with new rubber on the bike. Headed to a local bike shop in the morning to have the new tires mounted on the wheels.

"Babies' got new shoes".  Always feels good to have fresh tires to start the heart of the riding season.

Did you get 8k miles out of the Pirelli Demons without wearing them out  You must have some really smooth asphalt where you live. My rear got worn out around 4500 miles, the front lasted around 6k. The second rear, a Maxxis, is now near its end after a bit more than 5k.

Ditto on the Sport Demons for mileage. They were terrible tires and the similar ones on my T120 weren't much better.

The tiers on my bike were Conti Mile Stones. There was not to many miles left on the rear but the front was still in good shape but the age of both said they needed to go. The new ones are Metzler Marathon Ultras.
