V85tt crash bar bags

Hello Folks,
Has anyone used crash bar bags on a V85tt with Guzzi crash bars?, They look like they could cause problems with cooling as they are rather close to the cylinders.

I think you’d be okay if the front of the cylinders get the wind when riding.  Plenty of room in the metal saddlebags, I’d just use those.

Agreed, So long as air can flow front to rear thru the fins, cooling should be a non-issue. I'd think Givi bars would be one of the only kits to have that center bar under the cylinder to make secure mounting easy.

As for which bags, no clue. There are many options out there!

I already carry too much crap with me on a trip I don't need any more storage areas. I have even eliminated my tank bag. Plus like others have commented on. What about the airflow? I live in SE Arizona and it will be triple digits this week. I don't think they would be a good idea.

Yeah, I carry too much stuff on trips too that most of the time I never use.  The v85 Travel has presented me with some new challenges in that it doesn't have the storage capacity (by about 15L) that I'm used to.  Plus the left bag interior configuration is almost useless imo.  I've always carried a tent, kermit, s.bag & nemo in bags strapped on the back which I'll continue to do but clothing, foul weather gear & other misc stuff will require a little more thought to where they'll be stowed.  FWIW, while I'm whinning & complaining, I just added a HF Apache case on the back for more storage, I think it is about 38L.

I don’t use the rear top case.  It’s heavy, and sits too far back throwing the bike off balance.  I just strap a decent size dry bag (clothes) to the passenger seat.  Add tent and Kermit chair to the rear rack and I’m good for a week. Misc stuff in smaller left saddlebag, and rain gear and bike cover in the right.

I ride with my top case on 24/7 it carries everything I need throughout the day....water, extra sweater etc and it provides a place to store my helmet when needed. I don't feel any hindrence from it at all.

I moved mine 150 mm forward.

I found that when the bags and top case were loaded down, it lightened the front end on the twisty roads.  Probably fine for just tooling around.

Rode the Tail, Blue Ridge Pkwy and hundreds and hundreds of the best of West Virginia twisties with loaded down panniers and top box and pillion seat and never had a thought about the front end being light. But then again I was loving every mile of it so I may have missed that.

I’m envious.  I have to ride a few hours out of south Jersey just to get to some good roads.
