Kevin Cameron and Mark Hoyer. Cameron has forgotten more about engines than I can ever hope to learn.

Cameron has been my hero for many decades!

Back when motorcycle magazines were great sources of technical information.... there were about a half dozen gurus well worth reading.

The days of great writing and massive understanding is probably behind us. Unfortunately. Today, the masses want glossy pictures and not many words. Or a video.

I just think it is a different world.  I am amazed at the videos posted on YouTube on just about any project I need help
with.  I am always appreciative of the time and effort people make to upload these videos.

Having said that, I am of an era where it was always a great anticipation to reach into the mailbox and get that months
Cycle World and read the latest from Cameron and Peter.  Well crafted journalism does seem to be slipping away.

A couple of magazines I subscribe to have changed from a monthly informative journals to quarterly picture books. I hardly open them anymore and won't renew. Hot Rod being one of them. Most online articles are just fluffy diatribes. Forums like this one are about the on;y things I bother with anymore.

Amen.

Look at the new model introduction videos of motorcycles.

No information, just "artsy-fartsy!"

I also remember those days.  Phil Schilling, Cook Nielson, Joe Minton, Erv Kanemoto.

Much too expensive and too quickly out of date to do in print anymore.

I used to subscribe to a half-dozen or more motorcycle magazines: Cycle World, Motorcyclist, Motorcycle Consumer News, American Iron, Motorcycle Tour & Travel, Rider, etc.  Even had the occasional touring article published in American Iron.  Then there were the "club" magazines, like Harley's Enthusiast, BMW Owners News, and U.S. Desmo used to have a great bi-monthly.  The only one left that shows up in my mailbox is BMW Owners News.  Quite a change.
