intake tube clamp, where to buy
« on: June 04, 2025, 12:31:35 PM »
So I pulled an idiot, and when I put the intake back on I forgot to tighten one of the hose clamps on my V7ii. Clamp is still there, bolt to tighten it is not.

I haven't been able to find this style of clamp (or replacement bolt) anywhere other than Moto Guzzi, and they of course are on back order (and want 30CND per clamp). I can use something else, but has anyone found these clamps anywhere else? I cant imagine these are built ONLY for Moto Guzzi.

This is for the intake tube clamping it down to the head.

Looks like a 'Mikalor' clamp?

I recently bought some for my Land Rover exhaust off ebay, this is a UK seller but there must be similar where you are.

I think the V7 II originally came with Oetiker clamps on the intake manifold and elsewhere (fork boots, too). That clamp you’re holding is a fairly common hose/pipe clamp that’s normally better quality than the cheapo Chinese clamps you can find anywhere. You’ll often see them sold as exhaust clamps et al. Willing to bet your hardware store will have the right screw for it, metric would be my guess.

On Google type in "Mikalor". There are many vendors selling these clamps.

Fantastic, yes. Looked up Mikalor clamp and Im finding lots of similar units. Nothing with the fancy finishing bolt that came with it, but Ill find something in a pinch. Funny enough I just realized I have ordered these before as well, for silicone hoses on a different project!

At least on the V7ii, they use the Oetiker clamp on the intake / airbox connection. I just had to replace it with a gear clamp when I pulled it out to do the work I just did. On the Head / Intake connection they use these. I haven't found them locally anyway until i searched "Mikalor" as up above. I'd love to find one with that lovely finishing bolt with the allen head.....

Can't you just find/make another bolt?

This one, a stainless steel 51-55mm clamp on my Landrover exhaust uses a standard 8mm stainless bolt. The one supplied is fine for my purpose but you could use any 8mm bolt of the correct length.
