Friend hit a deer at 70mph! Helite Turtle 2 Vest

I went to check on a motorcycle riding buddy down in Acworth Georgia today.  He hit a deer on an interstate doing 72mph on his motorcycle in early June!  He was wearing one of those exploding vests (like a car air bag kind of) and he survived because of it.  Serious leg injuries etc but everything from waist up is good.  Those vests are like $750 but you know, that is a pretty smart thing to do!  He’s very lucky!  The vest is a Helite Turtle Two vest.  I might be in the market for one of those!

I'm a HUGE fan of the Turtle 2. Highly recommend it and hope never to need it!

I’ve had my HitAir coat for about 5 years bought 2 replacement cartridges, most thankful I am to never deployed it. I suppose I should test it sometime, but I’m confident it works. I watched a buddy test his standing off the bike pretty cool. Knocking on solid oak table now.

FWIW, Bob's talking about Tazio from WG. It destroyed his gorgeous Griso, but the vest did save him, as it has me.
All I can say is if you're smart enough to wear a good helmet, the vest is just as important!

I have a Helite also. My wife nagged me forever until I gave in. I don't know which model I have, it is the one with a tether. I attached to tether so it would be as short as possible so it will deploy before I go too far. I haven't "used" it yet and hope I never do. I got the bright yellow so Harley riders don't have to bother to wave. Of course the bright light up eagle also clues them in.
