Cali owners a day's drive from Asheville?

It strikes me as slightly bats to fly halfway across the country to purchase a bike I've never seen in real life, let alone sat on.

Does someone have a 1998-2012 California near Western NC that I could come take a close look at?

I'm in Illinois, so no help there.  But I predict that within 2 or 3 weeks after doing you fly and ride there will be an all around better Guzzi deal that will pop up within a couple hours of your house.

If his rule works like my luck, you have to actually buy something else far away before that local deal can become reality..
