Putting together a front end: forks calipers spacer
« on: August 12, 2025, 05:45:27 PM »
Hi everyone.  I have an 850t3 that I am putting together a front end.  It has large 4 pot brembo calipers and a powder coated black mounting bracket.  Unfortunately the caliper (right side) is grabbing onto the disc(the brake pad on the inside of the caliper.  .Please see pics, there is a small gap between the caliper and front right disc (I can’t torque the caliper because the inside pad is grabbing the disc .  I tore it apart twice, and then I measured the wheel spacer.  It is 30mm  longx22mm I.d. X26mm o.d. What is the correct spacer size?

good good gif
.  Is this the correct size?  Am I missing something?

You have to shim it or whatever to place the center of rotor in line with center of caliper. Set pinch bolts & see what you need on each side.

Shim the axle or shim the caliper?  Cheers

I had to shim the calipers on my T. You may have to shim the brackets. I've done that too.

It's a custom application you've got there. Unless someone has the exact same mods, you're going to have to figure it out for yourself.

First make sure the wheel is centered in the forks. That's the job of the axle spacer you've pictured. Then shim the calipers or mounts to get them centered on the discs.

Thank you everybody!  Gonna check the centering of the wheel (check distance between discs and forks) and go from there!
