Racing Guzzi!
« on: September 17, 2025, 01:13:50 PM »
Some of you may know that my son, JP,  started racing a 750S in AHRMA 750 Sportsman class. The first couple of years were a learning experience for him, the rider, and me the builder. We built a new motor for last season and he placed on the podium in 3 out of for races. This year, he has won all 4 events he entered into. We will be heading to Barber in a few weeks so, if you're there, come by the pits, say hi and cheer him on!

That's great Joe, I was wondering how his racing was going.

Very impressive Joe for you and your son. I know thats a very competitive class.  A couple of local friends (builder, rider) won that race at Daytona Vintage about 20 years ago on a built 750 Guzzi.

Is there a reason your only running a single front disk? Part of the rules?

Yes, the rules for this class only allows one front disc, two piston caliper and maximum 12 inch rotor. Recently a rule change allows a floating disc. Rear disc is allowed.

I love that look…
Guzzi’s look great in that pose, is your young bloke on the paint in the top shot ?

I don't think so, this track had very nice banked curves. I think, because it's in the foreground and slightly higher, it looks that way. This was shot from quite the distance so, the perspective is a little compressed.
