How not to and loose Oil Cooler
« on: October 08, 2025, 02:33:40 PM »

Winter prep is oil changes front to back for both EV (Evie) and Norge (VroomHilda).   OMG when Redline L Shockproof went all over garage floor when draining Transmission. My aim was off...   No particles and looks like new.  Think I can go longer tween drains from now on with age versus such low miles I have been doing last few years.

Never noticed till now  - how loose the oil cooler is no matter that the bolt is tight  thru rubber grommet to frame.  Is this normal being able to move around a bit?

This was just a big mess...

Normal, has grommets right? If not moving a bit it will break brackets. Changed them on Stelvio's. Glad you are enjoying.

Steve is right...these oil coolers do have play in them on the rubber grommets, totally normal.  Just make sure you're not missing any of the metal inserts that sit inside the rubber grommet or you might have too much play.

Draining the transmission fluid, I usually insert a folded shaped piece of thick paper or cardboard to funnel it off the exhaust pipe otherwise, it does what happened to you.  At least that way you can direct it towards an oil pan.
