Guzzi at EICMA 2025

Any interesting rumors or news NOT conceived by AI channels? I haven’t seen a thing, and EICMA’s happening in a few days.

I want to know about the new colours.  Love the TT travel but can't sand the gold.  Too 1978 for me.

But, but, but, there are videos on YouTube showing the 2025 and 2026 Moto Guzzi 1400 California. Are you saying those are AI generated and are not true?

There are posts on social media from EICMA. Haven't seen any news under the Moto Guzzi brand though, other than that they're advertising their HQ & factory remodel.

Not my photo, from FB. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10163414266085358&set=gm.24629109190063826&idorvanity=135549259846493

Maybe the factory/museum build has disrupted the R&D team. Like, they needed extra hands to hold girdles…

… or pour concrete…

…or something.

Heck, I’d welcome a physical concept of that V85X or the Aprilia single cylinder with a V85TT tank slapped on…SOMETHING besides new GoBot colors.

…Although that Monza red is looking good. Been a while since the V7 had a gloss red tank, aye?

I don't care for the new V85TT colors, Stone is OK, like the red V7 Sport and love the green Stelvio!

No V100?

My guess is they just chose not to come out with any new colors. It would be pretty shocking if they did away with it, considering it’s generally accepted as being quite the looker. Plus, to only have one model using their newest, expensive motor?

Perhaps they are holding some of the best new stuff back?

I hope so, and I say this because I have seen many MFG do just that.  We will find out over the next couple days.

I don't expect too much, as they have tipped their hand by putting out adds touting the new factory as their big deal for the show.  I'l really like to see a new Cal.

Perhaps so. I Just don't see them abruptly discontinuing the Mandello maybe they have enough 2025's in the pipeline for now.

My gut feeling is the V100 series is not as successful as they hoped so what to do.........

Sales of the V 100 in France have been disappointing and the market is flooded with second hand V 85's

It is a tough time to be an established motorcycle manufacturer.  So many new models coming out of China, India, etc.

That and the fact that a large number of the traditional buyers of brands like Harley, BMW, & Moto Guzzi are getting old.

As discussed in another thread, "classic" or "traditional" are like "common sense" or "culture."

All are localized and are subject to the changes of time.

This would account for 7 or 8 bikes in all of France? It only take s few drops to flood the Guzzi market.

Honestly there is probably nothing Guzzi is going to or could build to get me reengage me with the brand. Same goes with most other manufacturers. I would love to find a bike that gets my dander up. I've been itching' to buy and some money burning a hole in my pocket. The only thing that seems to be happening is I'm selling stuff bikes and not replacing them..

It was mentioned that perhaps the new factory/museum are taking the focus for shows this year. If that’s true, that feels like a very unwise direction. What puts dollars in their wallets and attracts new blood - a new museum at the location, or new bikes?

At least keep the teasers coming. Show that you actually care about the future and staying in the game. What other manufacturer shows up at a trade show just to unveil new colors and pictures of their new buildings?

Do motorcycle show/expos like EICMA really bring in new blood? Washington DC had a MC show that hasn't been held since 2020ish.  I never been too it but friends that have say in comparison to years prior its a shell of what it once was. Maybe back in the days of magazines and mail order MC shows were the place to get the poop on the latest and greatest but in the internet age they might be a waste of time money and effort for manufacturers...IDK .

I think you are right on the money. Personally I think MG should remain a niche motorcycle manufacturer. It seems that when companies get large they feel the effects of changes in the market more so than smaller companies. Look at Harley and Indian, they are both facing issues right now. Harley has a new CEO and hopefully he can turn things around, Harley is struggling from stagnation and a multitude of other problems. Indian has been cut loose, their future is very uncertain. Hopefully MG can keep plugging away no matter what the market is doing. Here in the US the weak dealership situation is the biggest problem. How many times do we hear or read that riders would very much consider a MG but the nearest dealership is hundreds of miles away and what we have in a lot of cases aren't very supportive for a variety of reasons.

Lots of  V7s and V100s at the MG pavilion, classic case of folks jumping the gun.
Doesn’t look like any actual new models,  but no current models are discontinued, plenty new paint jobs!

just coming back after two days at EICMA, it still the biggest in the world and going strong,
unless you been there its hard to explain how grand it is,
i live in milan, so kind of got used to it, but its really impressive.
even German Intermot pales next to it.

The numbers are:
Total visitors: Over 600,000
Nationality: 148 different nations
Exhibitors: 770
Brands: Over 2,100
Exhibitor countries of origin: 45
Percentage of foreign brands: 67%
Journalists: Approximately 8,000
Journalists' countries of origin: 74
Operators: 38,000 from 126 different countries
Total area: Over 3,5M square foot

It's pretty much the same problem evrywhere but not the only one.....the rear drive on the V 85 and the coolant leaks on the V 100 in their early days were not very encouraging.Hopeful ly they are holding out new models with very thorough testing and quality checks but i'm not holding my breath on that. Those kind of cock up's don't do sales or reputation any good at all.

I remember attending the big Cycle World/Progressing Insurance International motorcycle show in Atlanta each winter.  Then that disappeared. They used to be at multiple venues across the country.  Now just LA and New York.
