Has anyone used Rain-X for plastic on their motorcycle windshields?

Nope, but I’ve been extolling the virtues of the original rain-x since it first came out, and now their wiper blades, so I would not hesitate to give it a try. There’s a wiper fluid too

It’s crazy how well it works on my cars. It’s hard to explain…water just beads and rolls up off the windshield at hiway speeds, and freaky that you can turn the blades off….less so around town but still you can see thru it.

One of those rare “As Seen on TV” products that work

I have not but I have no reason to get away from inexpensive lemon Pledge as a windscreen/face shield cleaner and/or detailer for the rest of the bike. It just works.

Yes, I have used it on my EV windscreen. Works good, much like the product for glass

I've been using Rain X on windshields of cars and 'planes and face shields since it came on the market in 1972.

Does it work any better than lemon pledge on the visor?

Lemon Pledge contains waxes which will build up thick films over time and may discolor the plastic. Rain X is a silicone base with alcohol solvents. I've been using it since it came on the market and have never seen a film or discoloration.

Funny, according to the MSDS Pledge contains silicone and no wax and Rain-X water repellant contains no silicone.

The MSDS for Lemon Pledge, it is comprised of water, silicones and Naphtha.

Rain-X Plastics water repellant looks to be 90% water and 10% propylene glycol. You could get a gallon of distilled water and a add 12 ounces of propylene antifreeze to it and make a lifetime supply of Rain-X plastics water repellant for about $4

I have used those type products in the past. However I found many years ago that just waxing my MC shields, same wax and technique as waxing the vehicle, repels rain for months or several rain storms.

Contemporary Pledge doesn't contain wax. The Pledge I knew 50 years ago did contain wax. I don't keep up with product development as I used to do.

Car wax works a treat.  I avoid anything with silicone on any plastic like the plague.
NixWax VisorProof if you must.
