color matching Centennial livery gray and green
« on: November 24, 2025, 08:09:29 PM »
Here's my little off-season project:  I want to custom paint a new helmet in the color scheme of my 2021 V9  Bobber in Centenario livery.

For my '23 V7 Special I wear a Diamond White Arai helmet that matches the white tank on the V7 well.
So I thought "why not customize a helmet for the Bobber?"  I know, how vain!  Regardless, I think it will be neat!
In the USA I't familiar with Duplicolor paints, but maybe there are other brands recommended?
I can't find any source that gives a paint color code, so I think I'll have to color match with some existing colors.
Has anyone found a Duplicolor spray paint that matches the Guzzi pale green?  Or the shade of silver?

Thanks in advance!

Find an auto parts store that sells Duplicolor paint. Take your bike and get their color chart, it is quite extensive. My store will let me take it outside to find a match. You should be able to find something fairly close. I have read that MG won't release their paint codes. One nice thing about Duplicolor spray cans is that the nozzles are fairly decent. They spray in a fan which can be adjusted from horizontal to vertical and anything in between.

I had some paint work done. Several painters (and I use that word loosely) wouldn't touch the job because they didn't have the color codes. I found a guy that kinda grinned and giggled when I told him there were no color codes. The paint matches better than the factory paint.

Thank you gentlemen!

I will try to match up the paint and see if I can make my helmet look like a nice OEM Moto Guzzi helmet.
If I don't screw this up, I'll post pictures here in the coming months.
