Guzzis at Mecum 2026
« on: December 12, 2025, 03:44:45 PM »
Looks like just nine Guzzis at this January's Mecum motorcycle auction, ranging from 1926 to 1998:

https://www.mecum.com/auctions/las-vegas-motorcycles-2026/lots/?auction[0]=Las+Vegas+Motorcycles+2026|1769472000|1769817600&configure[filters]=&configure[ruleContexts][0]=pin_items&q=guzzi

I like this bike from 1998:

I’m going, with wallet, but it’s a different bike that I’m eyeing.  Time will tell

I’ve actually seen some surprisingly good deals come out of the Mecum auctions.

Is there a particular month that features Moto Guzzi? Or is most favorable?  Or can there may be entered at any of the auctions in any state?

I don't think there is a specific month that features Moto Guzzi.  Guzzi's FOR SALE can enter any of the auctions, anytime, in any state...IMHO.

Yes, a favorite motorcycle for everyone!   :thumb: :boozing:

Also, I notice this year, there are A LOT of "Collections" coming up for auction.  Maybe an indicator that some people are "cashing out" while they can...(???)

Dont know about the USA, but if you follow classic Bike UK magazine, youll read that other than a few blue chip / iconic models, most classic have not even maintained their value in the last decade, let alone keep up with inflation.

With new generations of potential fresh classic bike lovers growing on phones and less messy hobbies, cant see how the trend is going to ever reverse back to the golden days.

I live in Italy, our local "craig list" is full of Falcones, people trying not to give in and ask something that it is near to what they paid for,

well, ads are still there 10-12 months after first publication.  Lets not even talk about Nuovo Falcone, you might get a used scooter price, IF you manage to sell it.

From my observations of previous Mecum motorcycle auctions, it's common for many of the bikes to come from collections. The one motorcycle I bought through Mecum, a Yamaha moped, was even part of an architect's collection that was whittled down. I do think many of those collections tend to be liquidations, but some just regularly move bikes around. They'll sell a few and buy a few.

I am seeing the same thing with classic collectable Mopars. Quite a number of years ago a guy turned down a $4.9 million bid on a '71 Hemi Cuda Convertible. He was holding out for $5 mil. There were only 7 built for the US and 5 for export but it was also reported that only 11 were built. I saw the other day another is coming up somewhere for auction. I don't know but I doubt that it will bring half that but you never know. There is Big Bear Yamaha 305 Scrambler on the list that I would like to have but I am spending too many $'s rebuilding a '76 850T.
