NFL Payoffs
« on: January 11, 2026, 01:04:55 PM »
For fun, every year I do pics for the NFL playoffs starting with the wild cards.

I don't do any type of betting, but it is fun to put out my predictions week by week. I generally hit about 82%. Though I've been ashamed of the city of my birth for several decades, my loyalty to the Northeast and to New York teams is unwavering. ** I no longer consider the Giants or Jets New York teams. They've been playing in New Jersey for decades and five jettison them. The only true New York Football team is the New York/Buffalo Bills.

I developed what is called NEPS better known as the Northeast prediction strategy for NFL playoff games through the Super bowl. It's pretty simple, if it's not a New York team, I will pick whatever Keen is geographically closest to New York City. I make the prediction based on straight line distance from City to City.

So, with that said, my Wild Card pics for this weekend are:

BEARS ---- BILLS --- EAGLES --- PATRIOTS --- STEELERS

Play and truth be told, I'm pretty agnostic when it comes to any type of sports. Professional or college. Doesn't really matter. I just like the games.

As a Philly fan since the age of 5 when my older tomboy sister and I would play 1-on-1 football when she visited, I’m a fan of your prediction.

She’d be the 49ers (because it was the 80s!) and upon query over who I should be, she’d give me the Eagles. The memory of that one time I juked and spun past her, scoring my only touchdown ever against her, glued me to Eagles fandom forever since.

I was once corrected by a New Jersey lady who overheard me tell my cousin that the New York Jets and Giants actually play in New Jersey.

“No they don’t. They play in New York…” she confidently clarified. “…I know—I’m from here.”

so far so good, Bears and Bills both in.

I'll only be surprised if the Steelers get past the Texans.

Incredible the degree of meanigful games decided in the final two minutes this year. Feels unprecedented but I could be wrong.

Go Patriots!

Niner fan here since the late sixties. Good win over Philly but don't think they'll get by Seattle. They are my pick to win it this year

I didn't realize there were 2 games Saturday (cause you know this is just for fun), ...... The Panthers lost to the Rams.

Sitting at 50% with Wins for the Bears, Bills & Patriots so 3 for 6....... Losses for the Panthers, Eagles & Steelers.

At least Rogers took his team to the Division Championships. Looks like the Jets curse followed him to Pittsburgh.

Let's see how next week goes.

Rodgers didn't have time to take two full breaths on most passing downs.

This:  Pittsburgh had three turnovers.  Total plays off them: 10  Total yards: 9  Total points: 3

Go BILLS!

The only part of that game I saw was the overtime. Two thoughts; crazy call playing on the Bills. Wasting too many 1st downs with runs up the middle that went nowhere. And, yea, they got robbed on the pass reception that was way too quickly called an interception.  The man caught the ball and he had the ball when his back hit the ground. Then the Denver player used the Bills players impact to simply take the ball out of his hands. After the play should have been called a reception.

The heart attack Bears unfortunately couldn't pull off what looked like it was going to be a winning field goal. That said at least 5 drops by the receivers killed us.

Go BILLS!

Hard to believe the fired the coach.  And worse for it, the Denver QB broke his ankle on the big PI.

Too many injuries and too many games for the good of the sport IMO

Bears coach like a lot of them, wants to go for it on 4th down, passed up a couple of easy field goals that would have won the game. How about the commentators,do they ever disagree with a coach, what a bunch of ass kissers.
