Louder horn recommendation for 26 V7 E5?
« on: April 14, 2026, 03:07:11 PM »
Anybody have a louder horn they can recommend that can be fitted to a stock 26' V7 WITHOUT having to go to a relay?
Hoping for a "plug and play" solution.
Would like to avoid the relay/wiring to battery, etc. etc. if possible, though I may ultimately have to go that route if no recommendations are forthcoming.

I put this on my v85 for same reason.  It is a slightly bigger in diameter, but it is noticeably louder, and doesn't sound like it should be on a 50cc scooter.   Plug and play.

I've found that they don't really perform at their best until a relay is added.

The sound bomb is a good deal bigger than the little stock pancake, but it is fairly loud, and should have a relay put in, so it's not a direct plug and play.

I've installed the Hella Strong Tone (don't know if it's available in your knock of the woods). The same size clamshell as stock, so fits easily in the same places, at least on my early V7s, uses the existing connectors. Comes as a pair, each with different tones.

Without a relay at present, but I've recently come across a YouTube video of a bloke fitting a new hornset to a V100 Mandello - uses the original horn wires as triggers to the relay - easily doable once if figure out where I can mount the fuseblock.

For the Denali SoundBomb Mini I've never installed a relay. May not be as loud that way, but has been good enough for a plug-and-play replacement. When adding a relay, I go with the regular size SoundBomb air horn.

I played around with a few replacement horns.  After installing the SoundBomb with a relay I never looked back.  There's a horn, and then there's a HORN.

Using the included y adapter I mounted these as a direct replacement for the single scooter-sounding horn installed on my 2024 Stelvio with no relay; the are very loud and have a great 70's-era American auto sound.

Thanks, All! I think when I do my first service I'll pull the tank and go with a dual horn and relay setup. Done a lot of those, but was hoping I could forgo that exercise. Now I just need to figure out where to butty the relay, route wires, and mount up dual horns!

I replaced the horns on the last 4 Guzzi I bought.  For the first three I thought I NEED a louder horn.  And over that 25 years of owning the first three, I maybe used my horns in "anger" a dozen times!  And that's all the while living in Chicagoland.  And of those dozen or so times, the times I think it made a difference by having a louder horn, maybe 3 or 4.   And even then, those 3-4 were after I had to take evasive action, or at best on the hind end of the evasive action.  Meaning, in the real world, my louder horns made next to Zero difference.

Yet, I still put a louder horn on my 25TT, it just sounds better!

If similar to my V7/850 the horn is already using a relay . I went to a local auto parts store & purchased a hi-note & low- tone horns . Made up a Y harness & mounts , the stock brackets were a bit cheesy . So far so good ! Loud enough to move stray critters out of the way & wake up most snoozing motorist !

Hi all!
I've got those Neoget horns from Amazon on my KTM Duke; wicked loud! Did have to do a relay on it but it was a much simpler process since there were OE fused accessory leads already run up to the steering stem.
My current V7 is another story... apparently power for the OE horns comes from the chassis ECU, and is hot-switched using the horn button. No relay is used on any separate circuit for the OE horn. Uuugghh. The OE horn probably pulls 2 amps max; the Neoget set pulls around 9. I'm probably asking for trouble if I don't fit a relay as I have no idea if the ECU can handle the current - most likely not. Same with the handle bar horn switch. I'll have to wait until I get the tank off to see about burying a  relay under there and the associated wiring. Was hoping to avoid that, but oh well!

I added air horns to my EV.  It does involve adding a relay but is well worth the effort.  People actually pay attention now when you press the horn button!
