V85TT Oil Filter Cover O-Ring
« on: April 15, 2026, 05:40:13 PM »
I think the oil filter cover O-ring (P/N GU90706444) has a 72mm ID x 2mm wide (cross section). Can anybody confirm this? Thanks very much.

I found the oil filter cover O-Ring dimensions by buying a new GU90706444 O-Ring from the dealer and measuring it. The OEM O-Ring is an industry standard size JIS P45 (3.5mm CS x 44.7mm ID). I ordered some of these P45 O-Rings from an online O-Ring supplier and they are a match. I had to make a minimum purchase of $10.00 with the online supplier. Since these oil filter cover O-Rings only cost .25 cents each online I now have 40 of them. With one or two oil changes a year I guess I'm set for a while.
PS: I did something similar by buying drain plug and oil filter cover crush washers from Amazon, also pennies apiece.

Thanks for taking the time to post the size of the O-Ring. I need to get me a few of those.

I think a high schooler could have machined a better oil filter cap assembly, in shop class.  The oring land on the cap and pan bore & crush washer areas look nasty.  Although it doesn't leak, it puzzles me why not.   Who knows, maybe they forgot to machine mine.  I'd like to have the crush washer area counter bored on mine a couple thou because it looks like someone installed it without a CW once.

The oil filter cap machining still isn't any better on my '25 model. Like you, I'm surprised the oil cover crush washer seals at all. The bolt shoulder is fine, it's the cap that's a mess.
