WG and JRT Come Thru In The Pinch
« on: May 04, 2026, 07:02:52 PM »
The baffles were completely rotted out of the HDM's original mufflers. I had knocked the rusty remnants of the baffles out to eliminate the rattles. I did not care for how loud the mufflers were, nor the popping on decel due to the lack of back pressure.

I put out the word that I was looking for a set of stock EV mufflers in the Classifieds section.  jrt - Jason happened to have a solid set of mufflers sitting in a corner and offered them for free.  I just got them today.   I gave the internals a good dousing with Boeshield in the attempt to prolong the life of the baffles. Then gave the mufflers a good polish, installed them, and went for a spin. They look great, sound great, and the snap crackle pop on decel is gone.  A nice improvement for the old girl.

Thanks a bunch Jason, and thanks to WildGuzzi for enabling it to happen!

I can resemble that :thumb:. I was wanting lower frame rails to swap my wife's 01 EV from boards to pegs. One week in the classified and elrealistico sent me a complete set. All I had to pay was shipping. Then, another member was needing the boards so I paid it forward with the same deal.

I love that we all help each other with this type of stuff. With such rare birds on the road, it's almost a necessity to have each others back and not worry so much about the money as much as helping others stay riding.

It’s karma,a few years ago at CedarVale Dave changed Bob Rebos tire with zip ties so he could get home, don’t think he charged much.

It was a team effort by a number of folks.  A suitable tire had to be found, and the Corvette trip to get it back to CV was a big part of it.

After we had chastised Bob so much about not riding back on his bald tire, we just couldn't cast him to the wolves.
