What's the value of this 2018 Moto Guzzi Eldorado?
« on: May 09, 2026, 08:11:42 PM »

Curios what the community thinks is a fair / good price for this bike.

Looking to get back on a motorcycle after years without one.

Would like to purchase one that I could ride and resell, without losing my shirt, if it's not the bike for me.

Seems like $10,000 is just a price the seller pulled out the air without taking into consideration the true market value.

I'm not sure but it might be a pretty fair price given the condition and extras.

Two years ago I asked my dealer about trading my mint 2016 California 1400 Custom with that same mileage in on a new Stelvio. It had the factory windshield, seat rail, and color matched hard panniers. I had checked trade-in values which were around $7,000 and was hoping to get $7,500-$8,000 due to the mileage, condition, and accessories. When he offered $9,000 I took the deal. A couple days after trading I checked their website and he had already had it on there listed for $9,999. When I looked again two days later it showed "deposit taken" and it disappeared from the site a couple days after that.
I doubt those bikes in that condition have dropped over the last couple years.

That’s a lot of bike for ten , comparatively. I just bought a ‘19 side by side Polaris four wheeler for ten . It’s not the same but reflects some market trends and I would buy that one.

I fully admit to being quite biased in favor of an all black Moto Guzzi Eldorado 1400. Check out this thread if you have insomnia: https://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=123981.0

I paid $9,000 for mine late last year. IMHO, it was perfect for me as it had a full GuzziTech exhaust system, GuzziTech fuel system, CA Touring windshield, CA Touring windshield winglets, CA Touring driving lights, Eldorado specific heavy duty luggage rack, Matris fork internals, Matris rear shocks, brand new Avon white wall tires, Guzzi Comfort seats, UNDER 1500 miles, yes, under 1500 miles etc. etc. etc. I'm the third owner. As an added bonus, everything OEM that was upgraded on the bike is now in my attic. Shocks, fork internals, exhaust, rear chrome rail etc.

IMHO, $9,000 was above and beyond the 'market value' of an Eldorado 1400. There were three of us who replied to the sellers ad. One hung up when he heard the asking price, one offered around $6,000 and me. The 'extras' on the one I bought, to me, fix the major issues with the oem bike. Exhaust, fueling, suspension and accessories. I've since added a lot of very hard to get oem (DPM) accessories plus the Eldorado specific, and BEAUTIFUL leather saddlebags, tank bag and trunk. The saddlebag brackets have been NLA for a long time. Piaggio has a couple sets of saddlebags and a few trunks left. My latest addition was to convert all forward and rearward lighting to LED. The OEM headlight and driving lights, while attractive, perform quite poorly.

Anyway, recently a 50K mile 2016 red Eldo sold in Canada for about $3,500 USD. Yes, $3,500 USD. Apparently it needs a lot of love but it had the oem Eldorado specific saddlebags etc. Buying the saddlebags from Moto Guzzi would set you back over $2,000 and the brackets, IF you can find them, another $550. Yes, I know that particular one has aftermarket saddlebags.

I doubt I could get $9,000 for mine if I were to try to sell it today. Likely not much, if anything, over $6,000. Therefore, I wouldn't pay anywhere near the AZ sellers asking price.

These are rare bikes, sadly, that does NOT mean they're 'valuable'. Moto Guzzi affectionados are notoriously 'thrifty/cheap/tight' or whatever similar category you'd like to select. Like most owners forums, the 'kiss of death' is when a forum member posts something to the effect of "that should sell quickly.'

That being said, I rode mine today on a beautiful 106 mile loop consisting of interstate, two lane and back country single lane roads. I averaged 37.23 mpg. Yes, it saw 'elevated' highway speeds. Mine is absolutely, positively, NOT for sale.

I would not consider a 1400, of any model, without being a paid member over at GuzziTech. The real world data and information available their is, to me, well worth being a paid member. GuzziTech is absolutely NOT a social media forum like WildGuzzi. It's a 'technical' forum... Nuff said about that.

Anyway, by all means pursue that beautiful Eldorado. But know, it very likely can't be 'flipped' for a quick profit or a breakeven if you change your mind. A well sorted 1400 is a the best bang for the buck in all of Moto Guzzi. It's a shame they dropped that engine and the line.

I am always amazed how many 1400s are for sale when I filter Moto Guzzi on Marketplace. 14 of the various 1400 models in the first 60 Moto Guzzis.  But very few if any sorted to the extent of TNMark's!

Where do you value the bike and how did you arrive at that number?

The only thing you can do is make the seller an offer and see if they accept.

There's a local one for sale with more miles but listed for only 5500. It's been for sale for at least 6 months. If that guy got 10k or close to it then good for him.

I saw one for sale locally for $3995 and put it in the WG swap meet for all to see. No one seemed to GAF. Now there is a similiar one (maybe the same one being flipped) for $5500 at the local Guzzi dealership. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/805111392621389/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A5cea2cf4-a02b-4f32-aa04-d60e4a74baa8 Not sure how much you would save coming here to flyover land to get it, but surely cheaper than $10K.

That 2014 California is a beauty. Being all original, it would likely need a lot done to it.
Some 1400 items are already NLA.
Accessories? There are some out there, mostly in Europe.
