Fat Boots - Reccommendation

As I have aged, I have found that sections of my formerly rippling torso have shifted southward.  I find it increasingly more difficult to zip up my riding boots as the diameter of my calves have adjusted.  I have nice boots from Dainese and from Alpinestars which are getting impossible to wear.  Does anyone have a recommendation for boot brands (waterproof) that are more tolerant or more comfortable for leg diameter increase?  These boots fit my feet fine, but zipping is near impossible.

Forma or BMW. I have very big calves and wide feet so Italian boots like Sidi just wont fit me. I few years ago I discovered Forma boots which I found very comfortable and fit well. Then Max BMW had some sale on BMW Gortex Heavy Duty boots for just $150. The BMW boots are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. They have been my go to boots for the last 2 years. The still have no sign of wear.

Might give Richa boots a look. I use a boot of theirs that is velcro closure only, not sure they're made anymore. I have the opposite problem, zipper boots are never snug enough for me.

    Go to Google. Type in "Motorcycle boots for large calves". A few vendors.

     You can take the boots to a shoemaker and have inserts sewn in to widen the uppers.

Perhaps, but likely to destroy the integrity of any waterproof layer.  I'll keep it in mind.

Boots, gloves, and helmets I have try on first. I’ll pay more for the privilege than just going mail order. Fortunate to have helmet store within an hours ride but few shops carry many boots these days, at least around here.
In past I have stopped at Competition Accessories and Iron Pony, the latter would do a shoe store proud with their selections.

Oxtar made wide calf and wide foot boots.
I was quite comfortable with them.
So of course they ceased production.
Then came TCX boots and I'd swear they come off Oxtar patterns & lasts. They fit me the same as Oxtar.
I rode a lot so I used up boots.
So I'm at the "Airheads" rally and someone is selling a Size 44 almost new pair of BMW boots for short money so I grabbed them because they fit perfectly. I'd swear these boots were cut from the same pattern and assembled on the same lasts as the TCX & Oxtar precedents. All 3 are Italian. All 3 are quality. All 3 were Goretex lined and waterproof. I've wandered into standing water below the boot tops and always came away with dry feet.

Was going to say Cruiserworks but they seem to not exist any more. I see they can be found used on eBay. I have a pair of their wide calf boots. Probably bought them 20 years ago.

Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex Boots one European size up from my regular size work for me and I can even tolerate them in the morning before medication catches up with the edema (swelling) in my feet. Same as with other zip-up boots though, they can be uncomfortable if you tuck pants into them and the pant legs are baggy enough to require bunching up to fit. I tend to wear casual pants (e.g. jeans) tucked into the boots, and then an Aerostich Roadcrafter suit over everything.

Forma. Adjustable bindings, very protective. The shorter version works for me.

Gasolina Boots ! Custom made 4U using the info you send. Not H2O proof , so if it’s going to rain a pair of grocery store bags over socks . That said I’ve had several  pairs of boots advertised as waterproof . After 1 Yr. @least one would not live up to its expections ! Oh , my size ? 12/4E

Pat, I have issues with fluid retention in my lower legs which causes them to swell up. This is common and normal as we age as the "check valves" in the veins don't work very well with the aging. I wear compression hose to keep the swelling under control. I wear Danner lace up boots so I can adjust the diameter of the tops as the swelling changes. My cardiologist has me doing this as well as some meds to help prevent a possible stroke. Your situation may be totally different than mine.

I have a pair of TCX mesh boots which are also waterproof. They have a zipper and a velcro flap. I never use the zipper after numerous failures on other boots and just use the Velcro. No problem with fat calves, just lazy.

I had two pairs of Oxtar boots years ago. Loved them! Yea, fat calfs here as well. Great to hear the local BMW shop may have a suitable option.

Would you consider boots that are not 'motorcycle' boots?  I don't have particularly large calves, but i have a pair of RedWing boots that are super easy to pull on.  Advantages:  waterproof, comfortable to walk in, abrasion resistant.  Disadvantage: no ankle armor.  Redwing Pecos, Nailseat or SuperSole styles-  they are similar with different soles.
