Anyone in the UK willing to help me out?
« on: May 29, 2026, 03:53:09 PM »
I need a drag link for my Poulan Pro riding lawn mower.  It's been discontinued by Husqvarna the parent company,  Ive spent hours trying to find it on the phone and the net to no avail. The only place that seems to have it in stock is in the UK.   It's only a 15 pound part, but the two dealers who claim it in stock, won't ship out of the UK.
I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to buy it on my behalf, and send it across the pound to me.  Of courses I will pay for the part, shipping and your time, if you're agreeable.  It's a 4"ish link, weighs maybe 225-280 grams.

Part number   585 92 05-01 right hand drag link

The two companies that claim to have it are:
Forest Park and Garden
Coed Court
Treforest Ind. Est.
Pontypridd
South Wales
CF37 5SW          (+44) 01443 230000   sales@fpandg.com

and Revill Mowers Parts Shop.   https://www.revillmowers.co.uk   I can't actually see there web site because they block foreign nations, I guess to prevent fraud.

Bumping it up for you BC.
Seems like a reasonable request.
Ok, some of you members across the pond, let’s help a fellow member out with his need.
Thanks in advance 👍

I've looked into Royal Mail post options, as well as what I *think* is the product that you're looking at.
Without any additional PayPal fees and local post, you're looking at £12 GBP for delivery.
I haven't sent something to the States before, so don't know what paperwork etc. needs to be done.

I could do without the hassle but if no-one else chimes in, I may be able to assist, rather than seeing you stuck.

I’ve bought a lot of things from Italy. DHL is top notch and they collect any tax and tariff before delivery.

DHL. Just checked online, with approx. packed up size/weight ==> £33.91 VAT not charged. Yikes!
I suspect business customers get better rates.

A couple months ago I had a package shipped by DHL. I got the notice it was picked up and another about the tariffs due. I paid the tariff fees to DHL on-line by credit card. I bought another item shipped from China. The tariffs on it was about 120% of the item's cost. Unfortunately that was the only place I could find what I needed.

Use Parcel2go, they get business rates from most couriers and then pass them on (in part) so usually costs about half that of the courier direct.

I'm in England and ship stuff in relation to my business to many countries (though not to the USA for a while) but, without getting political, recent changes with regards to import tariffs in the USA has had a huge effect on shipping there as the tariffs are high, complicated, unpredictable and frankly anti-business, so much so that many businesses have just stopped doing it, in a similar way that some US businesses did to the UK post-Brexit.
If the OP gets stuck, I could probably help but I have no idea what the shipping costs might be.

Isn't this something one could just fabricate or repair with basic tooling?

Have you checked out this place?..

Says one in stock but I ain't certain what the NLA column denotes (product official status?).

Thanks Double, yes I have.  NLA means "no longer available".

A fellow member has the part on order, and will forward it to me from the UK shortly!
