Potential bobber purchase

So I found a V9 Bobber sport, it has low miles with a Corbin seat, Agostini pipes, Cbow bags and mounts. The owner wants $6000.00. I like it but I can get a V7 Ten for the same money.
I am conflicted is 6k a good price for the V9? I thought I would try a Bobber for a change of style.

Where are you located? One was just traded in at Kissel Motorsports in Tyrone PA with about 4k miles IIRC and asking is $5500. It's not on the website yet. They sent me some pics in case I was interested. Ask for Haley if you call.

It depends on what you want. The Sport you are looking at has improvements many would want, but functionally a V7 will be superior to any V9 for the majority. The V7 is more comfortable for most, has more range, better handling and more cornering clearance. But function is not the only reason we buy bikes.

I disagree with both the previous posters.

1. The bike at Kissel isn't a Bobber Sport so it's missing the Ohlins. I'd pass on that one.

2. I found the Bobber Sport just as capable at my V7's, and though the range is slightly less the fact that it punches above its weight class is a performance upgrade.

The Bobber Sport is the Goldilocks of smallblocks.

Plus I bet the seller would take a slightly lower offer anyway.

That seems like a reasonable price for what you are getting.  My used '21 Bobber was $5,575 and had only 681 miles on it.
I've been looking at pipes for my Bobber and they run @ $1,000, and then the C-Bow rack is @ $400 and the bags can be much, much more $$$.  Corbin seats run north of $650 to start.
It seems like you are getting a lot of great extras on top of a great bike.

I have both the Bobber and a '23 V7 Special, and I can assure you, the Bobber is a great ride, and capable little tourer with the right bags and seat.

How does it handle compared to your V7 special? I can get a V7 for the same price, the Ten even has a warrenty.

My standard guidance for V9's ... sit on it. The creased tank is not for everyone. Specifically, it puts my knees in an awkward position that does not happen on my V7.

Also, some people don't like the footpeg position, which varies by model year.

I am curious about the knee position situation - I find the tank way too narrow and my knees have never touched it. Hence I prefer very wide fuel tanks that my knees and thighs rest against without me having to pull my knees together.

For me, the side creases of the tank are right at knee level, so if I try to hug the tank it annoyingly hits my knees. On the V7, my knees fit nicely in the flat section.

But we're all different.
