But that's the point: it looks like the racks are supposed to attach to the rear fender via what the parts catalog calls a "gusset" (18488740), but the current fender doesn't have that attachment point. So, I'm trying to decide if I should just stick with the current fender and forget the panniers, or get a more correct fender and mount these cool old leather panniers. Or is there a third way, in which I have my fender and the panniers, too?
