33rd ANNUAL IOWA MOTO GUZZI RALLY
Jul 10 to Jul 12, 2026


This a Family oriented rally. All bikes, riders and families are welcome. Elkader City Park and Campground. Elkader is in beautiful Northeast Iowa on Highway 13, about halfway between Highway 3 and Highway18.  The park is toward the south end of town and can be seen and accessed from Highway 13.

Tent Camping Friday and Saturday nights. (Early arrivals need to pay at the Park Kiosk for extra nights). Coffee, tea and lemonade all weekend. Three meals. For Friday, Iowa beef supper. Saturday, breakfast and Iowa pork chop supper, Rolls and donuts on Sunday morning are included in the rally fee. Also: 50/50 Drawing, Observation poker runs, guided group lunch ride on Saturday.   There is a swimming pool in the park (cost is not included in the rally fee). Rest, relax and enjoy all the scenic roads in the area to ride.

Note that the Franklin Hotel in Strawberry Point was closed - last time I checked.  The City of Strawberry Point website also lists it as "temporarily closed".

My Wife's idea of camping is Motel 6.

As of Friday evening there were 140-ish attendees.  The weather was nice.  Here are some random pics

I was just there for a couple of hours late morning - don't live too far - perfect weather, nice park, talked with some nice folks.  Surprised that about half of the bikes I saw were other than Moto Guzzis, heavy on BMWs and, to a lesser extent, Triumphs.  Saw a Moto Guzzi model I'd not seen before and admired it.  When the owner pointed out it was water cooled I said something like, "Well, Bob Dylan went electric."

   I used to live in WI and attended the Iowa rally several times including when they hosted the national. One of my favorite rallies next to maybe the WI rally. That orange California is a beauty. Ace Mallot still owns that?

I want to apologize to the volunteers who put on this wonderful party for my Irish goodby immediately after dinner Saturday.In my haste to get home before dark I neglected to thank them for all their hard work,so thanks for a job well done .I srarted coming to this rally with my wife and 2 little boys in 97 and have been there at least 20 times for rallies and also for b and b getaways in Elkader and Strawbery point,all of which have been truly memorable experiences.At 81 this may be my last hurrah so if I don’t make it back ,thanks for the memories.
