I know AI stuff is pretty boring, but this Guzzi FXRT combo is one I like.   

I have been a fan of the Harley FXR series since they appeared on the scene in 1982.  The FXRT was a "sport" touring model with this distinctive fairing.  Of course, marrying the FXRT with a Guzzi makes it!

It is the brainchild of a fellow who purchased a Tonti of some sort with plans to build a special that looks like it.  I hope he pulls it off!

I bought and rode a first year FXR.  It was a really good motorcycle.  I wish I never sold it.  Put 20K on it first year.
Back then it was always "the next big thing".  SO happy that's all over with.

Probably because of the nice looking paint job.     I will admit Harley's usually have nice looking paint jobs.

 I rode a 1989 FXRT all over the country for many years.  Heck, I'd still probably still be riding it if not for a careless driver pulling directly in front of me while I was traveling home from Sturgis in 1999.  I'd see stickers in Sturgis that said, "Sturgis 99, I rode mine."  I got one and scratched out rode, "Sturgis 99, I wrecked mine!"

I was thinking the same thing. It might work better on a V100.

It’d venture to suggest that grafting a Guzzi mill into something that wasn’t designed to accept it, would throw up a lot of hurdles.
The main one that would come to bite you would be getting the UJ on or acceptably close to, the pivot point of the swingarm geometrically.
If you didn’t achieve that little feat, your joint and splines in the drive line would be flogged out very quickly due to the constant alteration in distance between the gearbox output and the pinion/crownwheel conglomerate at the rear, when the suspension compresses and rebounds.

It would need a 1400 with the GT fueling and exhaust systems. The Go to pair with the Show.

Yeah, not suggesting it was impossible King, but not just “stick it in and hook up the chain” type of thing.
Also, a UJ poorly placed will guts it out for a certain amount of time, but the moment you put torque through it in an angled condition, it starts eating itself.
Ideally, when a UJ is dead straight, it isn’t actually doing anything.

We all do it, but they do go to a fair bit of effort to get the pivots of the Uni on the centreline of the swingarm.

The AI photo shows a Tonti frame, not something else, so no "grafting" would be necessary.

-I think that would work well if you started with a Cali / EV. All the bodywork in this concept looks like aftermarket except for the side covers.

The FXRT fairings can be found but sell for dear prices.  The FXR along with the FXRT sport touring are in a renaissance period.

I think I remember that the V100 was originally designed as a 1300 CC. No body needs or wants a big pig cruiser. Plenty of them out there already.

However I would be satisfied if they came back with the Hydro 1100. That was a great motor and had plenty of power with less weight and bulk the 1400 had.
I now only ride solo so the 1100 would be great for me.
Therefore let’s request MG gods to grant us touring/cruiser guys a mid size 1100/1200 and a full size full dresser. 👍
