Touring Days are Over/Donating the Guzzi

Time doing what times does, I've determined it's time to put motorcycle touring in the rear view mirror. Of the many machines I've enjoyed, I think my V-85tt Travel has been the best all rounder. Know that the Wildgoose community has made ownership all that much more enriching.

 Good On-ya as they say.  We all have that day coming.  Either we make the decision or it gets made for us in some fashion. 

  My riding has slowed down considerably (medical and age)  and trying to get down to only one solitary Guzzi.  But even then the one will stay if only to admire and small short rides.

Good way to close your riding chapter in life. If my T-3 doesn't end up going to a relative it will be donated to the KS Mennonite Relief Sale. Last year $800,000 was raised in a weekend. The funds go to multiple relief needs both domestic and abroad.

Hopefully it goes for good money. When is the auction, I would like to follow it. Too tall for me, I will stick with my V7.

Did running it with more RPM help the vibration?

Yes. I also found that the idiot behind the handlebars created some it himself. I screwed up balancing a new front tire. I have a homemade balancer, I don't think I had the shaft sitting directly on the bearings. Why it shook side to side is beyond me. All is good now.

Glad all is now well. I love my new 26 sport. But I do think I like the handling and lower weight of the III better.

I agree although I had a V7lll Special and now a V7 850 Special. In a lot of way I liked the lll better. I got the 850 for mainly the cruise and additional power which has come at a cost. Low speed-low gear riding is jerky, the throttle is overly sensitive. Vibration is higher I can live with it just have to keep rpm up kinda higher than I would like to. The lll liked it better than the 850 does.
