New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I recently picked up a v7 II stone and noticed that the engine case halves are weeping oil. Does anyone know the torque values for these fasteners off hand or could point me in the right direction for an engine tear down manual? The workshop manual either doesn't list them of I've not had enough coffee to find them. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to remove them one by one and put a bit of thread locker on them and give them a snug then go back and torque them. Both sides are the same. I put a wrench on them and they feel lightly tightened. Hope I got this image posted ok.
Book says just under 17ftlbs on the studs. Bout the same as the early smallblocks. The bead of sealer does not look like a factory bead, specially the glob in the middle. Could it be one that had the crank wear shims issues? Can't remember what year model those are.
You’re not blind, it’s listed in the specific engine manual, not the primary factory service manual. You can download the engine manual from Cadre Cycle’s website, Guzzitek.org, or Greg Bender’s thisoldtractor.com. Here’s a link from Cadre Cycle to download: https://cadrecycle.com/manuals/technical/Engine%20V750%20IE%20MIU%20G3.pdf
How many miles does your V7 II have? The weeping crankcase has my suspicions slightly aroused considering the V7 II’s notorious crankshaft issue.
