New Guzzi Dealer in Georgia and Bike show
« on: August 26, 2026, 12:27:13 PM »
Mountain Powersports in Ellijay, GA is having a bike show Sept 5th with food trucks, a dyno and music.  They just added Aprilia and Moto Guzzi.  Had a number of Stelvios, V7s and V85s.

As those who live in the area know, the MG dealer situation around here has been in flux the past few years so I figured I'd point out there's a new option.

I stopped at Mountain Powersports in Ellijay yesterday.
I wish them well. They’re well stocked on brand new Moto Guzzi and Aprilia bikes.

Just in case anyone rides up (or down?) that way, Highway 382 West around the east end of Carters Lake is a very nice ride.

From what I hear, that's probably a GOOD thing!

Lots of good roads in the area.  Just have to look on either side of 5/515/76 or whatever name is used at that particular spot.

I went even with the horrible heat. I ran into MerleLowe there also. Very large turnout. Lots of Harley riders showed up not sure why but they did have a dyno guy there and he was very busy.
The good news is they are already expanding the business to include a second location in Blue Ridge Ga. Much closer to me and a nice ride. They seem like easy folks to deal with. All great news for the Guzzi community. They have a TON of new inventory in all the product lines so I assume and pray they are well financed.

The last real Moto Guzzi dealer that I recall, was Cycle Specialties in Bogart Ga.

Two locations 15 miles apart? Different product line up at each?

I was wondering the same thing about Blue Ridge but did not get a chance to ask.  No Vespas in Ellijay, but wouldn't expect that to be a big seller in either town.  More of an urban thing?

They do appear to be moving a lot of bikes.

Oh, and Vagrant is exaggerating a little about the weather.  It was mid-90s, but only 60--ish % humidity.  Nice and dry.

I dealt with independent servicing dealers for 37 years on a wholesale basis. It make no sense to me either. Unless, long term it all gets folded into Blue Ridge. Hidden / unknown factor could be rent vs owning but it sounds like both are leased to me. Lots of money in the N/E Ga. area. They told me 1/2 of their business comes from the Atlanta market and 1/2 from far N/E Ga and North Carolina. They are big into side by sides and so is the N/E area so maybe it makes sense.

Ha! I thought motorcycle dealerships only sold side by sides nowadays. That's the case here, including our Harley dealership. Yeah, they all have bikes on the floor, but outside is 10, 20, 30 side by sides. You drive by and never think they sell motorcycles.

That's the only thing keeping them in business! Cycle sales suck.

Around here SXSs are selling like gangbusters since they can now be licensed for street use.
