Givi Tank Lock
« on: September 07, 2026, 12:26:03 PM »
I installed a Givi Tank Lock on my brand ne V85TT Travel. It went on without any problem however included is some hardware called "supports" to be mounted on the steering stem with instructions that say "Supports Must be mounted". I did not install them as they appear to have nothing to do with the tank lock. The best I can tell they are designed to decrease the steering radius. I have had tank locks on three other bikes and none included these support. Does anyone have any ideas why these supports are supposed to be installed.

I have the same Givi Tanklock mount on my V85tt and use one of the smaller Tanklock bags on the mount. I didn’t see the need for the steering limiters with my small bag. But with a larger bag, the bike’s switchgear including the kill switch, might be activated with the bars fully turned.

I also have a small bag that does not hit anyting on my bars. The odd thing is that on the V85TT the lock is set back on the tank, while on my Tracer and RT it sits on the fuel opening closer to the bars. The same bag DOES hit those bars but those kits did not come with the supports.
