Norge Breva Centre stand nut
« on: September 26, 2026, 11:59:16 AM »
Has this been covered before?
Anyway I lost my nut bush ( city limits ) for my NorgeGT's centre stand bolt on my travels.
The bolt wasn't able to disappear as I'd installed it from the inside and the collector box kept it there.
Anyway, I've to pay good money for this nutbush €30 Inc shipping and was wondering if there's a solution to stop it disappearing again. Yeah tighten it up properly.
This is my solution.
Use a longer allen bolt and put a lock nut on.

And wait for the postman.

Good idea, I'm going to copy.
I lost mine too and I couldn't stop the bike from falling.

I've ordered the special nutbush from Fowlers in Bristol, they're on back order. I've bought a 30mm long M10 threaded insert bush. 22mm diameter as I didn't have a plan.
Now I do, I'm going to turn it to match the nutbush. Then lock it in place with a locknut.
I may in the future buy larger diam and have a 24mm nut head, for now flats will suffice.
It's a temp measure until my order arrives. Ha, they all say that !

All sorted with my Mk1 version, my lathe skills are apparent, but this is what I bought it for. Or similar. £200 well spent.
My thoughts,....
50mm allen cap head instead of 45mm would allow the threads to clear the nut.
Need to buy a sacrificial 8mm Allen key to cut down to get past the collector.
Apart from that, jobs a good un bish bash bosh.

Maybe add a dab of loctite upon install this time...should help it from coming undone again.

200 quid to get a new bolt all in?  Wow!

I bought the lathe a while back. Still no real maching skills but the bike will be on the road tomorrow instead of an unknown period of time. Loctite and locknut. Belt and braces.
