I am not sure whether this is a stupid question or not, but I'll ask it anyway: Do the recommendations for valve clearances change with increasing mileage? From the service station manual, the values for the Cali 1400 are 0.15 mm (inlet) and 0.20 mm (exhaust). But are these still valid for my bike, which has >100 K miles under it's belt? And if not, how would they change? txs.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS on 100k miles on your Cali 1400. Please, more details.
Regarding the valve clearances, I’d keep on with the standard spec.

Except that troublesome wear spot on the tip of the valve…dr dave recommends, something…I forget.

I think that motor has a 'shoe' on the tip of the adjusting screw. That would greatly reduce or eliminate that wear spot.

Unless I have that confused with another motor, which could happen.  :boozing:

And experience. That comes from poor judgement.

You are correct. The 1400's have an articulating shoe on the rocker adjustment screw.
