I am new to Moto Guzzi and the forum so while I wait on my new to me V11 Sport to show up I can reply to this thread.  Here is my 69 Rickman Velocette I have had for about a year and am completely re-working.  This is what it looked like when I got it.  Should be ready to ride in a month or so as I am down to a custom pipe being mandrel bent at the moment.

As soon as my Guzzi shows up I will do the formal intro...promise!

Thanks Chuck.  It will look even better when I am done.  The battery is now under the seat, lowered the foot pegs for an old guy(me) and the rear fender is black like the front one are the cosmetic changes I have made.  Otherwise all through the motor to Thruxton spec dual plug and every other mechanical system, has a belt drive primary now.........  Was not even close to running when I got it.

They are Mistrals. Not too loud but a nice deep mellow tone. Sometimes I think they should be louder but they are probably fine as is.
They sound great, not what anyone would say is too loud though.

Scole- I gotta tellya, I'm not sure if I'd be able to sleep if I owned that bike....I'd just want to be playin'. Really stunning. You should post some pics in the cafe thread on the ADV forum.

That's a good one!  BTW the frame isn't chrome, they stopped one step before at nickle and actually there is very little chrome but a whole lot of polishing.

SO many gorgeous bikes!

Probably a dumb question: do you ever get blinded by sun reflecting off of the chrome tanks? I love the look but live in Texas with lotsa intense sun.

Geeze, ya gotta wonder. One of the worst vehicles ever for reflection is my Mercedes ML and the light off the facets of the star in the center of the steering wheel. Such a small thing yet so very intrusive. After that it's the sun off my Calvin clocks if the sun is behind and over my shoulders.

When your whole bike is a solar deflector (convex though most of it may be) it must lead to horrendous sunburn under the chin and the bottom of the nostrils. Doubtless not unlike making the mistake of polishing the inside of an aluminum boat hull then spending a day in the sun drinking fishin' beer drinkin' beer fishin' beer and beer. Yup, seen that movie too. The sunscreen comes after the dehydration enhanced hangover.

I've got no problem with it...or the testa rossa included. I wonder tho' if the Record kit puts her into more of a "retro factory racer" category as opposed to a Cafe' Racer category. Just a question for others, Does a bike with a full/half fairing belong in a Cafe' category?? I always thought of a cafe' as more of a stripped down machine.

Some pics of a recent build by a British guy, John, (aka Mad Johnny) I met a few years back when he was riding across the US. I suspect he met some other people here as well.

I just did my introduction and I found the article of my boxer and my friends Guzzi so I thought I'd post it here. As I mentioned in the introduction a Guzzi was very close to being my first bike and they've crossed my path for my entire motorcycling life so I knew it was only a matter of time before I got one. I now own a very similar LeMans IV to the first one "that got away" and I'm looking forward to building it.

Anyway, this is an article that was written about my boxer and my friend Tom's Guzzi. His bike was a huge inspiration in the build of my bike and it was a thrill to have them featured together. Sorry for the bad scans but it should be high enough res to read.

Gregor

PS I'm not sure why the forum is shrinking the spreads but if you right click on them to open them in a new window they are full size.

PPS Here's a couple of shots of my boxer in the studio. Expect my Guzzi to follow the style.
