I started with a 1982 Yamaha Vision, bought brand-new for half price in 85. Shaft-drive vee-twin.
After a year I wanted something better (real brakes and handling would help...) and the short list at TT Motors in Berkeley was a BSA Gold Star (not clubman, alas), Norton Commando, or Ducati Darmah. I figured I'd never start the Goldie and that I'd rather shim valves than frames, so got the Darmah.

Then came a Yamaha SRX-6, light weight and great fun. And not too hard to start. Maybe I should have gotten the Goldie.

Then I was off bikes for a while, poverty etc. A few years ago a friend said I should get back on a bike, and he found a V50II that needed a little attention. That did the trick, followed by a Monza and LM IV.

V7 Classic in the future? Depends on whether this is 1929 MkII or not...

I started riding in 1972. My bikes have been:
1967 Moto Guzzi V7 700 cc. I put about 40,000 miles on this one. [it's in the garage]
1973 850 Eldorado. rode this one about 126,000 miles. [it's in the garage]
1995 Cali 1100 I. I put 50,000 0n this one. [now owned by my step brother]
2001 EV 1100. I put 53,000 on this one so far. [no plans on parting with this one]
1976 V1000 Convert. Put about 25,000 on this and do not plan on parting with it.
A total of about 294,000 trouble free miles on my Guzzis.

Ive never owned any thing but a Guzzi. It's not that I'm narrow minded, I just don't like anything else!!!!
My wife, Betty has 4 V65SPs and has ridden her silver one for about 65,000 trouble free miles. She will be the next one to get a newer bike. She says it must be a Guzzi. I can't understand where she gets that.

Born in '48 and at aged 16 started riding with a '48 Matchless 350. Had this for many years and during this time it metamorphosed ??? in to a 350 AjayMaTriNortyBeezu mHondukiAmaha.

While this was going on I got married and had

1981 Honda CB250RS
1985 and I sold the Matchy (it still lives!) and the 250 to fund a
19885 Honda GB400 (a really fun bike)
Problems with shoulders meant I had to give up bikes for about 9 years but in early 2004 my Princess convinced me to take up bikes again and we got the 2003 Breva.

Inspired choice for both wife and motorcycle. ;D

1979 Bike Bug - This was a 2-stroke motor that you clamped to the front forks of a bicycle and had a friction roller that drove the front wheel.
1972 Vespa Ciao moped - My first Italian "motorcycle" :D
1976 Yahama IT175 - Had to hide it from my parents in my friends garage!

I started riding about 1963 due to needing cheap transportation and the freedom of riding in soCal. I have ridden mainly in Calif. and Oregon/Washington, with several cross country rides mostly on Guzzis or my VX800, either solo or 2up. ;D But now the maxi-scooter is being used for long distances too. The Beo is just so darn convenient. ;) Hopefully Judy will be able to do some long distance on her MP3. 8)

I know this isnt about what bikes I have owned, but being over 50 my memory is a little short. Lets just say they all were nice, with my first being a Rupp mini bike. Anyone out there ever see any good deals on the new Triumph Bonnevilles/Black. I'm trying to find a good deal if I can sell the Honda. Then I will have the Guzzi, and the triumph. Guzzi for my touring/trips, Triumph for running around.

Hmm this will be a wee list compared to some of the above... though mebbe I am younger... started riding in 86

74 Yamaha 250 Enduro was the first - made a fake sticker for the lic plate so i could hit the roads between the trails

79 Honda CM400T - my first true street bike, bought from a friend, just had to spend $55 to replace mufflers that had rusted out to put it on the road.
This one also woke dad up, who decided it was time he finally returned to bikes, so he used it to get his license in the new country (UK immigrants)

83 Kaw GPz 550 bought this with my first credit card.... (used) abit silly... but that bike served me well. Not long after buying it I took my student loans, bought some gear, loaded up the bike and toured the country. Finally had it removed from the garage 3 years ago after it sat since 1996.

07 SV1000S - 1st new vehicle! Gave up smoking... all of a sudden I could once again afford to ride!! well nvm the credit problems from the GPz era took a while to recover from...
Dad said I would kill myself... well nooo.. crossed the country again, but this time in style!

08 MG 1200 Sport - this one is a keeper not had it a month and its already crossed the country!
