'Low Down' is a term used in reference to a 'diverging approach' signal by a lot of railroad employees.

Is that the same as being "on the Down Low" or is that something different ....?   :D

'Low Down' is a term used in reference to a 'diverging approach' signal by a lot of railroad employees.

Diverging Approach:   Proceed on diverging route at prescribed speed through turnout prepared to stop before any part of train or engine passes the next signal.

I've taken quite a few diverging routes in my life (and will most likely see some more before I'm done), and I always expect to take one when I'm on the bike.   :P
Funny how reality clashes with supposition...I thought that you were a Boz Skaggs fan.  A divergent traveler is a much more interesting concept.

I like to bake things in the oven and stew various combinations in the crock so Stew'de Baker became Studebaker.
It is a coincidence I do have a Studebaker in the garage but there was no connection to that an the forum name.

Other reasonable possibilities for future names?

I may change it to Man From Utopia in reference to a splendid Frank Zappa album or maybe Homesteader as I would desire to get off the grid and see if I can make it. Or EMP - as the reason I bought my 73 was to have a bike which would run should the government use an EMP bomb during martial law.

In Europe, you used to have to put a sticker indicating your country on the back of your car. For Slovenia, the sticker said "SLO". I was driving along one day and saw an old Yugo with the country sticker right after the Yugo insignia and thought it was a good description of the way I drive.

I owe it Arlo Guthrie.
It is from The Motorcycle Song.
I sing it constantly in my helmet while I ride.
I recommend the version in which he explains the significance of the pickle.
Enjoy!

Years ago, when I opened a hotmail account,  I was prompted for name.  I looked out my office window and a guy next door was raking and burning leaves in the cool fall weather.  I thought, "that's nice."  Leave, leaves, I like leaves etc so I made-up "leafman."  It has no significance beyond that.  Ive had people think everything from me being a landscaper to a pot-smoker but the truth is much simpler.

I signed up on the forum when there was only 2 pages of members.  It was easy using the first name.  I am included in the "stupid people" asking questions.  I'm not above anyone.  ;-T  I think it's been about 5 crashes later and Luap is doing a superb job!  ;-T ;-T ;-T

I didn`t know that,- but now I see.  Hmm,- from birth,- maybe thats why he`s smarter than me.

As far as I know.  His dad's name is Paul.  Maybe he can give a full explanation.  I'm figuring it's a compromise.  "Yes Honey,  we'll go to your church but I get to name the kids."  ;D  Happened to my wife's family.  Maurice Jr., Mauriann,  Maurinn, Maurynda.  3 girls.  One boy.
