From the article, this is what I was thinking of.

"Modern-day Wichitas number about 3,000, based now in Anadarko, Okla., said Gary McAdams, who has held several leadership positions with the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes.

The Wichita are intrigued — and concerned — by what might come next, McAdams said. Blakeslee has consulted with them for years, telling what he’s found, inviting them to visit sites at Arkansas City and at the 160-foot-long serpent symbol still visible in the pasture grass in Rice County. Wichitas have helped on some of his digs."

Plan from this piece of the world is hoping to get there Wednesday, although weather will have a big influence on possibly our departure day as well as our arrival day. It really depends on the weather patterns. With a plan A,B, and C, we'll see how it plays out. Not that I'm opposed to riding in the rain, I've done it many times, but if we can work around it for the majority of the ride, well............... ...........

A little Crosby Stills Nash & Young lyrics may be appropriate:

Slowpoke I'm gonna run with you,
Wear all your clothes and do what you do.
Slowpoke we got some things to find,
When I was faster, I was always behind,
When I was faster, I was always behind.

My schedule has opened up and I will definitely be attending!  It looks like I will arrive Friday Evening before sundown if all goes well.  Even earlier if I can scoot out of work early.

Ready and willing to pay up.  Can someone save me having to wade through all these pages and let me know the easiest way to do that?  Is there a paypal account I can send to?   What about the meals Friday night and Saturday?

Thanks! :thumb:

Thanks guys!  See you there!   Getting a luggage rack and hard bags added to the 850T this week.  This will actually be my first "long" ride on the thing!  Trying to talk the wife into coming.  If she does, I will try to pull my trailer and drop it off earlier in the week.  Then she can come in the truck (carrying her Honda CB400F Super Sport) and pull the trailer back on Sunday.  That's the hope at least. If that happens my 12 yo son will come with his Honda CT90.

As it stands, we plan on heading out Monday and reaching Elizabethtown, Ky. and stop for the night. Then across the Blue Grass Pky. to Hickman, Ky. where we cross the mighty Mississippi on a ferry. (A whopping 5 bucks per bike.) and up to Sikeston, Mo. to stop for the night. We should show up sometime Wednesday afternoon in Cedar Vale. Looks like we might get a little wet getting out of the Cleveland area, but I'm hoping for decent stuff after that.

Nick, add a day and cross the Mississippi on the ferry. Pretty cool. Get gas before you cross if you need it. NOTHING on the other side for a while.

We are getting all of the rain out of the way this weekend  By Monday it will be Sunny and warm with light winds . One of the reasons we picked the small town of Cedar Vale as a rally spot in 2013 is that it never floods out , and the pavilion will hold hundreds of folks .

You people ride safe , this is shaping up nicely , should be a good time for all .
