Dusty,

Ms. LD and I are celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary today.  I still chew chips with my mouth open and can't put toilet paper on right.
But there you are.  I feel grateful for such a long run.

Youngest daughter is getting interviews.  She graduates from SCAD in Savannah end of May.  Huge event, and for me the end of seven consecutive years private college costs...two years with overlap and eating beans and rice.

Just finished lunch after spirited V7R ride.  Great machine!

We go into Alzheimer's clinic mode Sunday afternoon.  Visit is 2 weeks this time.  Our schedules get whacked with the time and energy expenditure.

Life is good and I hope you are well.

The only other biker in the street, A Harley Owner, is so big I don't dare call him a G-- P-----, not even in print. On hearing voices out the front of our house yesterday, I wandered out to see him in conversation with my GF. Turns out he and his GF have been evicted and he is donating some of his motorcycle stuff to me. His landlord is his GF's ex, a druggy, wife-beater and nutjob, with whom they have been fighting in court over custody. Nutjob lost and kicked them out to get even. Not only that, the biker had to sell his Harley and his GF her car, to pay costs.
The biker and I only ever used to wave to each other but I am his beneficiary of sorts, in his hour of gloom. I wish him well. He turned out to be a decent bloke.

Retirement notwithstanding, my week was NGC. Some focus on the van project, but this weekend I needed to make up delinquent clinic hours to keep my ski instructor certification current, and that meant two days of great spring skiing at Arapahoe Basin with a bunch of rowdy instructors. We got the season's last runs on Pallivicini, a set of steep couloirs, before the patrol closed it because the snowpack is starting to slide off the rocks.

Great times with some old friends. It started to snow again as I left the parking lot and now rain is forecast for the entire week (wish we could export it to California). Will spend a day or two insulating the new-to-us van -- and prepping for Cleo's graduation on May 15.

Good Morning my Fellow Guzzi Flyers! Looks like a good sunrise this morning.

Don't know how this day will turn out yet, but the darn lawn needs mowing before touchdown.  **C

The picture is nice! I liked it but dont remember exactly where I got it from. It just had a number for a filename and I renamed it Dawn Patrol for easier retrieval.

I think it is a group of bi plane enthusiasts out of Florida - the planes look to be the same type maybe early twenties? Not the same undercarriage as most WWI planes that I have seen.

There are a lot of art pics and paintings with the same title "Dawn Patrol". Some are very nicely done too.

Man I love WWI aircraft, and the pilots...phenomenal

Pretty good Monday, but Alzheimer's clinic is open and Ms. LD spewed her stress at me just before dinner.

I have learned the game.  Got Grandpa settled watching the Astros.  They look real this year.

Need a nap in my chair.

Dusty,

Great news this week:  youngest daughter got offered, and accepted a summer internship in NYC.  Great company wants her skills.

College graduation is May 30.  Likely internship will turn full time in fall.  She also had four other companies chasing her.

Personally I feel like I am about to cross a finish line...and it has been a long, and very expensive race.

Seller's remorse, along with fixing a flat on the car, fixing the soffitt on the house where birds were getting in. When I went out to the hanger to get a ladder (haven't been in there lately) a pair of sparrows had found their way in and nested. (!) Bird shit everywhere.  ~; That'll be a great way to start the morning.  ::)

My day (yesterday) was a good one. It was my 50th birthday so I took the day off and did some "me" things. Went trout fishing in the morning, caught 1 little brown that had to go back and yup the big one got away. Mowed the lawn (it just bugs me when its looking shabby), gave my Racer a nice wash and wax, and took a nap! I later celebrated with family by grilling some burgers and blowing out the candles on a carrot cake. All in all I'm a pretty lucky guy.

The hummingbirds returned to our feeder yesterday.  I know it won't mean much to you who live in more clement climes, but it's a big deal for me since the ice only went off the lakes a few weeks back and we really needed signs of spring this year. Bloody whippourwhill was singing all night long though and the catbirds are nesting by the back door.

I just mowed part of the lawn for the first time. Pretty soon I'll be moaning about how quickly the grass grows, but for now, it was a pleasure.

Oh yes, for GC - the Eldorado is running like a top and the local machine shop is replacing the drive hub in my spare rear wheel.

Life is good.

Rhapsody in Birdshit.  Played as a round with Rhapsody in Blue, it becomes the Rhapsody in BlueBirdShit Suite and plays in 5/8 time.

See what I did there?   ;D   Seriously -- the little blue bastards nest in the eaves and lay down a slick on the walkway.

Did I ever mention that we go to kid soccer? It's an absolute hoot. They are 6 years old and play like there is no tomorrow, hurling themselves into sliding tackles without fear, hacking at the ball with little feet that know neither rules nor tactics ;D Many goals are scored, always the result of happy accidents. Boys and girls play together but the girls play "nice", mostly. There are no injuries. They must be made of rubber ;D

Tough bike week here, hoping today will go better.  The Winter project I purchased ('99 Triumph Thunderbird Sport) to (learn to) wrench upon became a Spring project and may now be a Summer project.  I've learned a tremendous amount mechanically but more valuable than this may be that I'm not a good mechanic nor someone who enjoys wrenching more than riding.  Today I go to reset float heights for the third time (first 2 too rich).  Hoping it goes well.

Dusty,

Turned 61 today.  Very weird vibes.  Struggling big time with poor communication on new house build financial issues.  Frankly pissed.  Very pissed. Wasted afternoon at yet another builder required meeting and long, very wet drive to and from.  Best part of day was riding bicycle and getting muddy and getting grandpa Larry buzzed.
Very, very ready for Alzheimer's clinic to close on Monday.  Energy and time drain.

Lack of sun is getting to me big time.  Depression is kicked in.  Maybe Saturday will be better.  Pretty down for my birthday.  Pretty down.  Too many demands, too little free time.  Hope to take Trumpet out for long ride tomorrow.  My buddy Ed is really struggling with ex and now working to file a lawsuit to get full child custody--dang why can't people respond and be reasonable?  Husband of one of my wife's friends suicided this week.  Lovely.

End of vent.  Very weird vibes.

Bal,

Ms. LD at funeral now.  I took the Trumpet out for a fast ride this morning.  Morale is up.  What is the old saying?  Oh yes:  one sees few motorcycles in front of psychiatrist's offices.  Alzheimer's clinic closes Monday.  Grandpa Larry was a real handful yesterday, very erratic.  Also demanded more wine at dinner and I slowed him down and pissed him off.  He acts and eats like a two year old at times.

Sunshine helps immensely. I am not meant for a wet/cloudy/constant rain environment.  Maybe if I am lucky it will be dry Sunday morning and the Guzzi will get some loving.
