Well yesterday was a red letter day for me! All my old stuff got sold! Everything pre 2,000? Out the door or to the tip! Brett bought most of it including my Convert and the remains of my little hot-rod and there was a huge Ute load of everything from engine blocks to gearboxes, ignitions, tinware, lights, dashboards, you name it I seemed to have it! I'd forgotten most of it existed!

Anyway the shed now has a lot more space in it although there is still a fair bit of CARC bike stuff I've got to catalogue and put away or simply take to the dump! The old Tonti and earlier stuff though, all gone. It does incentivise me to get on with fixing up the Hydro and looking around for a chair for it and I've got to decide what to do with the Mana? I should sell it too but it's such an orphan I'll never get what it's worth so I might as well just keep it. If I do sell it it will mean I should have enough cash in hand to buy that SWM without selling the Stelvio.

Uh-Oh! Already a new munt collection is starting!

Pete

In other news, I walked for 25 minutes today; the longest in 3.5 years, thanks to the wonders of medication. Prior to that it was 4 minutes.
And don't I just look forward to it

Yes, I know how good you must feel to walk. I had to learn how to walk after I got out of the hospital. First, it was 50 feet while the nurse had me tethered to a belt. Then 100", "can you go 200'?". and I kept after it. Good luck to you.

I had a MRI last week and it showed the  multiple  sclerosis was no longer active so it's down to treating the damage done.  The spine is ate up by arthritis and has a couple squashed discs as well as a stenosis that causes severe pain down the front of the right leg.  I told the doc there are worse things than pain,  he was surprised and asked what that might be.  Loss of function was my answer.  I too have been struggling with walking and I work very hard at it for its one of those things that if you quit doing it,  you may never start again.  Couple days ago I got up from a chair, took a step, caught my toe and did a face plant on the living room carpet.  The front of my right foot got folded back so it swelled up and  is colorful .  Fall prevention is my new mode of being as its my belief that a fall is one of the main reasons an old person gets put in a nursing home.
I remember when I got rid of all my loop frame stuff.  It went to a good home and I was pleased.  Now I wouldn't mind having it!

Made it to the cabin in Arnold CA yesterday. I love riding the bikes up here. Nice roads over the Sierra mountain passes. No bikes this trip. Most snow I’ve seen here in 25 years.

G'day John,
Had some thoughts about your troubles mate. I do not have a stenosis but was treated for sciatica with Lyrica, a nerve blocker. As for tripping-up; boy I can relate to that and have had to be very careful about how I placed my feet. Even took a couple of falls like you but didn't tell anyone
All FWIW mate and good luck :thumb:

I went to bike show yesterday and I'm a bit disappointed. The new V85TT wasn't as impressive in real as it was when first time saw pictures of the bike on-line. Not sure why but probably had too high expectations and... I'm not really type of rider which can appreciate such bike. Anyway, the visit to show confirmed that selecting Eldorado was right choice.

Great Dusty, Thanks for asking

This winter has kicked my ass a few times, but today I put one up in the win column. 2 weeks ago I blew reverse gear in my Argo trying to get my last load of firewood to the front door, I was lucky to pull the Argo out and get it just inside the door of my shop. Where amongst all the other toys and tools, sits my Lemans waiting to have it's tranny looked at. Feeling like a bit of a mechanical punching bag over here ;~).

While plowing out from snowmageddon last week, I blew a brake line in my '98 Chev 3/4t,,, was exciting to say the least, finishing up plowing with no brakes. I couldn't fit it in the shop to work on it, so tackled it outside. Line broke in a perfect spot in the engine bay on a 3/16" line, running from the master cylinder, down onto the frame (where it split from flexing) and then back up to a barrel connector on a mysterious line hidden in the left front under a bunch of crap, I didn't even have to lay down in the snow to work on it,lol.

It was an octupus of rusty replacement and abandoned brake lines, a real dogs breakfast,,, I soaked all my fittings with acetone/atf for a couple of days and managed to get them apart without causing any other leaks(fingers crossed). The first new line I picked up from Canadian Tire didn't match my fittings, but my guy at NAPA was right on his game, set me up with a standard 3/16" line with a larger fitting adapter for the m/c connection.

Trying to copy the factory install with a 51" line and trying to worm it through all the crap & working blind under my Fisher plow power pak was a nightmare,,, so in true guzzi fashion, I said wtf,,, tightly coiled the line as neatly as possible, went straight from the m/c to the connection up front and bypassed the whole frame flex issue,,, it ain't pretty, but it works.

No leaks, I've got brake pedal back, even have bubbles coming up the new fluid in the m/c resevoir, with any luck at all, I might not have to bleed it(until spring?),,, definitely feel good enough to plow out the next storm without fear of going through my garage doors.

ride safe and often,,, when weather permits, won't be a while for me,lol

Today was good. Lunch with my 91 year old cousin, my brother and his wife, and my middle niece, then a 150km ride with my niece on the back. Found another piece of road that they made the original Mad Max on, very steep with hairpin turns and only 1 lane wide. Did I mention the bumps? Lots of bumps.

I read something today that was a bit hard to believe, but they say it's true.

George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, and Bob Dylan (you'll recognize "The Traveling Wiburys" there) had decide to record a song that Bob Dylan was writing (wrote at the last minute) for them.   It was a last minute thing, so George went out to find a recording studio (they were in California).    None of the recording studios they checked had a slot that day or the next that they could use......

I stopped reading right there because the world spun out of control.   Here are 5 of arguably the finest and most famous rock musicians on the planet (anyone would include them in the top 25 of all time) who COME hat in hand and want a couple hours of studio time, and NO ONE WILL SELL OR GIVE IT TO THEM.

I don't know how the recording world works, but no wonder we all listen to MP3s now and don't buy records or CDs any more.   What kind of business man would MAKE that decision?

At any rate, they went to Dylan's home studio in an old barn and recorded it....

It's snowing out and spring is a long way off ....

Studio time is silly expensive and schedules are tight. Last minute? I don't think it matters who you are.

I do like "The End of the Line"; the video showing Orbison's empty rocking chair with his guitar on it.

Sad three of them have died, they had some good music.
