Today is a very good day for me as it is my last day of work.  Officially retired!  At the age of 72 I think I will find something a little more interesting to do.  Hope to get some rides in this season!

I can tell you that now that you are retired you will never find yourself so busy!  You will wonder how you found time to go to work.  Trust me, I are a doctor....

To this end, grandson who works for son is off to Auckland for his final tryout to enter the airforce.  Guess who get to go in to cover for him.  Guess who has been in just about every day to build shelves, put up signs, fix things, bolt down machines etc etc since son had to change business premises.  More .

You get the picture. :thumb:  I love it, I do "nothing" very badly.

The day was nothing but a string of successes....

1. Was able to reach the forward-most driveshaft zerk without any disassembly on the V11. A 1/8" 45 degree coupler made all the difference.
2. Figured out how the three moveable pieces of my grease gun holder work in concert to actually secure the darn thing. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures. Won't be using that tool again.....

Good day yesterday too Dusty. My new (86) road couch sailed through the safety inspection, so is now legally on the road.  I celebrated with a quick 50 miles ride in rain and cold, loving every minute of it.  It truly is as good as it looks.

Have been out on both of the geese and the F650 over the last couple of days. This morning, five inches of wet snow and the power went out for about 90 minutes. We all went back to bed.

Spent much of night shuttling supplies, water etc to firefighters.
Huge brush fire finally contained just across the road from beach community.  Local FD overwhelmed.  FDs across county rushed to
assist.  Many Beach  Patrol also volunteer firefighters so Beach Patrol support group, including me helped with crowd control and firefighter support.

As we speak City Manager has ordered everyone off the beach.
Trying times.

Not bored being in lockdown but i find myself doing different stuff.  The weather has been cold and wet since lockdown; went out to the garage and my breath steamed so came back inside to the warmth.  I was only going to tidy up and I need the right mindset for that!  Coupled to that, the shed stereo has gone on the blink!

Have been doing all the evening meals.  I don't mind cooking and my wife hates it.  Have started working on reducing the deep freeze.  The less I have to go out for food the less likelihood of catching the virus.   having lived in a very isolated valley that used to be cut off and lose power on a regular basis we are well stocked with food that requires little preparation if that is what is required.  No panic buying from us when it hit the fan.

I do like blueberry muffins with my  :coffee:.  Have just baked a batch; found some blueberries in the freezer so I thought I might as well use them.   My wife has just given them the good housekeeping seal of approval.  Have made a note to just tweak the recipe a tad.  In lockdown Google is your friend. :thumb:   Tonight's meal, pork chow mein with fried noodles, followed by a very nice and easy self saucing chocolate pudding with icecream.

Only 3.1/4 weeks to go (unless they extend it).

Having a banner day.......

Spent the AM on a solitary walk with the dog.  This town is deserted.  Did some casual bird watching at the local park.

Red Shoulder Hawk

and its mate.

Amazing what you notice when there are few distractions.

Hand forged link from old chain at park entrance.

Then ...

Epic fail of a doggie poop bag and no water at park fountains...
Had to use oak leaves and some of my much coveted hand sanitizer.

Well shit happens
Needed a shower anyway.
Sheltering in place in paradise ain't so bad but...

Missing my Guzzi Buddies

Stay safe guys.
See you on the other side.
