V7 Racer 2 seat conversion kit, better to stick with a special?

This was my solution - leaves the standard machined alloy brackets in place and one bolt on either side to remove them.

Cheers mate. Picked them up off eBay for about $30. M8 bolt that threads straight into them. Do some searches on eBay for "billet pegs" or similar. Had the local machine shop cut me the alloy discs. I have a spare set - PM me your mailing address and they are yours.

They look like they would work the same way as the frame sliders that I have seen.

Put a set of billet pegs on a chunky bracket designed to fit the front frame mounts and voilà - you got frame sliders, head protectors and hiway pegs - all in one!  ;)

V7 racer is a cafe style bike, which is not really suited for two up riding.

Pffffft. Dorcia and I toured Maine 2 up on the Lario, which is certainly not a better tourer than a new V7, without issue. She's 135 lbs with a 32" inseam, I'm 175 lbs. Plenty of power, and handled fine. <shrug>

My wife has a long inseam too and the rear foot pegs are high and set back plus the stock seat is shorter than most standard bikes out there i.e the triumph bonneville se. The bonneville seat is 4 inches longer and the foot pegs are right underneath you so you can hold on better. The power the V7C has is plenty for 2-up riding.

Did the pegs come with the hinge and you removed it?
