California 1400 leather touring seat review
« on: July 07, 2014, 09:41:19 AM »
For those of us with a California 1400 Custom, the Touring seat looks a little odd because of the black and white. So I ordered the "leather saddle" which is very similar to the Touring seat but in leather, and all black. Thanks again to Kacy at Rose Farm Classics for facilitating the order.

For the rider, the seat feels very similar to the stock--same height, but a little softer, and easier to change positions because the leather isn't as grippy as the stock seat.
For the passenger, the seat is much better than stock. Instead of sloping to the rear, the seat is flat and wide, tapering from 12 inches across at its widest point to 6 inches at the very back. My passenger rode about 100 miles on the seat last Saturday and she gave it the big Thumbs Up.

For what that's worth! See photos below, including the detritus of my garage, sorry.

Very Nice!

I have the same issue with the white stripes for a seat on the Custom.

This looks like it would do the trick.  I am pretty happy about the seating on the stock Custom seat.  I'm assuming the seating position is comparable.

The rider's seating position for the leather seat is identical to that of the standard seat--no more/less room, or height. Just a little cushy-er.

Do you happen to know the Part No.  for this all black seat?  I notice that on the AF1 website, the leather saddle option states it is the 2 tone.  Don't see one that is all black.
