No, that's the sad part about it. You'd think that the Nevada taught them a lesson.

Maybe it was a hot seller in Europe....

I don't know why, but that made me laugh.  ;D

Who knows? It's going to be hard to put ABS on the Griso. There simply isn't anywhere for the pump!

They can just do what BMW does, and remove fuel capacity.
They did that to add the damned evap canister on my F650GS.   The US version got 1.5 litres less fuel capacity than the rest of the world bike.

Not sure if anyone posted this, but there are sure some pretty good looking motorcycles here.

http://www.gizmag.com/eicma-2014-motorcycle-roundup-highlights-photos/34608/pictures#01

love that Tuono.  The half fairing looks much better than the half naked look.

Honda has a V4 sportbike based on the Moto GP bike and Rossi helped redesign the new Yammie.

I'd still like to know what the new California bike has the passenger backrest.

I'd imagine it means the modern Asian markets differ in taste drastically from the US market (and probably the Euro market) and they're challenged to try and cover both considering their small output.

Most of the people at this part of the world are brand conscious. To spend the same (big) amount of money on a motorcycle for leisure purposes, they want instant recognition by riders and non-riders.

I don't think a twist in the styling will make much difference to the sales figure for this region. Those who love guzzi will buy no matter how odd is the styling, we have Centauros here and the owners love them

I have to say I don't find any of the offerings particularly inspiring but I'm not a 'Cruiser' person and I do find things like the 'Scrambler' stomach churningly twee. I was really hoping we'd get at least a glimpse of a new 'Sports' bike but no such luck. Perhaps that's being held back till next year when the Griso gets retired? Who knows? It's going to be hard to put ABS on the Griso. There simply isn't anywhere for the pump!

Or perhaps they could add ABS only to the European (and other?) markets in which it is required, using the space under the transmission where the U.S.-mandated evap canister goes. (The European models still don't fit a canister.) Assuming the pump is not bigger than an evap canister, that is.

Moto

P.S. I agree w/ Pete about the new megacruisers and the scrambler too.

Interesting to see comments about the new bike looking like a Sahara.

Well, I think we Falconers are making progress when even a few people actually know what a Nuovo Falcone Sahara IS!

If we use to call the R80G/S and  the XT 500 "the mothers off all all roads" we should name the Sahara the grandmother! If only she was not that heavy.

This view gives a good idea of what the designer (Galluzzi, I suppose) was trying to do with the lines.  Repeat the tank seams back along the rear fender.  The side panels of the tank and fender appear to be carbon.  Or, at least they have that type of pattern.  Notice the thin LED lights.

I like the lines of of the tank and fender, but still think the fairing is a huge fail.  Why he didn't continue the lines of the tank forward into the fairing is beyond me.  The fairing looks like something off a toy Bat Cycle, or something...

Was that it?

Eldo and Audace versions of the Cal 14, and a catalog of accessories for the V7 Classic line?

I was really expecting to see Guzzi roll out a hot rod small block engine for the V7 II, and/or a "mid-size" retro standard based on the Bellagio chassis.

So, the company has no standard-ish bike between the 400 lbs V7 and the 700+ lbs Cal 14.

Gaping hole, if you ask me...

You can see by putting the 1400 and the V7 side by side and, yes there is a need for something right between!

Unless my eyes deceive me, it looks like they stepped backwards again and put TUBED spoked wheels on that new Eldo.  Wouldn't be the first time.

I don't disagree, but they just announced the V7 II so I wouldn't have expected any further news on that platform for at least another year.

Galuzzi said in a recent interview that the v7 line will get something special each year.  This year he said would be the new trams, next year is up to your imagination.    Why are you guys surprised?

It's not a standard per se but I have said before on here that I certainly wish they would have made a 1200 8V Cali.  But yeah, I can see how that wouldn't jive with the 1400 too.

I guess I wasn't expecting the two new Cal 14 variants, Eldorado and Audace.  And, I actually kind of like them both.  Nice (re)styling jobs by Galluzzi and his team...

I also had a strange feeling that,  since INTERMOT saw the announcement of the V7 II's transmission and frame changes, EICMA would see the announcement of an upgraded small block engine...  I had no idea they would present such a large catalog of custom parts for the bikes...

So, we got two things I didn't expect.  And, we didn't get the somethings I sort of expected:  A standard based on the Bellagio chassis and/or a sporty bike.

Oh, well.  I've got the money in the bank and will just sit on it until next year sometime.  Hopefully something will come along that will light my fire.

Right now nothing really quite does that.

You know, the Griso SE really is cool.  The new black/red combo looks hot!  Except for one glaring deficiency I'd be all over it,  but I cannot be happy with the 4.4 gallon fuel tank.  Just not enough range for the type of all-around riding I'm wanting from a sporty standard motorcycle.  If the fuel tank was 6.4 gallons, I'd be all over it.

Yeah, but I just hate making every stop  a fuel stop. There are things I don't like about the Stelvio, but fuel capacity/range trumps them.
