Bianchi Edition

I have always liked custom motorcycles with a theme, so after I discovered that Bianchi once made motorcycles, I came up with the idea of a "Bianchi Edition" V7, which I replicated on the computer using their unique Celeste color.

I realize that a sport model would have been more suitable considering Bianchi's racing pedigree, but I only thought of that after I had started on these pictures. What do you think, though, Yay or Nay?

Like everything about it but the forks. I'd paint them black or alloy color.

I'd really like it toned down.

I like the rims all black. Call it a Bianchi Tribute Edition. As an aside, I'm betting Rocker is going to roll you into the Oberdan Bezzi thread fest   ;D

It's hard to decide on how much or how little Bianchi color to use. I'm using cues from their bicycles, however, that's why I did the rims.

Yes, it was. I find the painted rims give it an old European look, as well.

I think the front fender comment is spot on- I'd almost vote to paint the rear fender black also (the side panel shape of the rear fender is not that gracefiul= so doesn't contribute to the line of the bike).

As fior the Bianchi color- honest? I don't thinl it works on the V7. Don't know why. I love the color on bianchis.  I would comment tha tthe V7 tank screams out for custom colors. I've seen the 2015 models in red and green on the showroom floor and they look fabulous. The shape and angles of the tank are unique int he motorcycle world and so drawing attention to it with awild paint scheme usually works. I'd recommend people accentuate the lines with fine pinstripe (think of Eldos and Ambos).

I love the second one, the fork & headlight shell was a little too much for me!

My Bianchi is dirt brown tho so ymmv

It's intended as a kind of ode to Bianchi bicycles, so without the painted rims and fork it's simply a different coloured Guzzi. Maybe less paint in certain areas would look better, but I like the old world charm of the painted rims, which is certainly not something you are likely to find on today's showroom floors. The use of handlebar tape in certain areas is also a possibility, and perhaps some brown leather similar to a Brooks saddle for the seat and grips. You know, go with the theme!

 When I bought my first Bianchi in 1980 or so I had to choose to order between red or Celeste, the Bianchi color, of course I wanted red but the salesman told I should order Celeste, it is the color of a 1000 wins, so I ordered one in Celeste and then again with my 98 Eros.

even if the color does not match exactly the bianche celeste , the paint scheme look good to me.

btw if you scroll down on the wiki website you will see a pic of a bianchi motorcycle , and the paint scheme does not match the bianchi celeste used on bicycles.

As nice as that color looks on a vintage, Columbus-framed Superleggera (or even a Fiat 500), it looks a bit too "Little Mermaid" for my tastes. Maybe Celeste would look better as a frame color...with black, white, or silver bodywork?

Celeste on the tanks and fenders would sell well in the Lavender District of Sacramento or SF, though.   :pop

Wikipedia even notes a couple of (tenuous) Moto Guzzi -- Bianchi connections:

Bianchi took on Lino Tonti as its research engineer in 1959. It produced 250, 350 and 500cc machines and took part in grands prix in 1960... Piaggio bought out Bianchi Motorcycles in 1967.

I really like the color on the bicycle not so much on the motorcycle, maybe it's just because that's where I'm accustomed to seeing it. Nice idea tho' and there does seem to be interest. Now if we can just decide if the dress was white and gold or blue and black.

I prefer your first rendering though I'd rather see polished alloy wheels.  The black makes the wheels look too heavy.
