I saw this interesting photo spread of a Moto Guzzi 1100 that was turned into a custom scrambler. Some nice features. I like the side covers he made from flat sheet metal. ;-T Looks a lot lighter than stock ... maybe the two into one exhaust system.

It seems like it all started with "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" where she has a cafe'd old junk Honda with knobbies.

what's the deal with cafe bikes and knobbies? are we looking at the new chopper?

The bike has motocross bars, standard pegs, and knobbies. That makes it a scrambler, no?

Clipons, rearsets, and street tires would make the same bike a Café Racer...

The front fender is too small and too close to the tire. A little mud and it would jam, besides making a mess.

True , but mostly because this whole turning long wheelbase 500 lb street bikes into psuedo dirt bikes is just silly :o

Good stuff. Most of the scrambler stuff is style. Everything but the knobbies doesn't hurt it as a street bike. I like the stone screen, good touch.

This one hurts my eyes a little (but I mean no disrespect if it's yours ;D)

i think the small block isn't too top heavy for a real scrambler.
I have never ridden a Quota so can anyone chime in regarding it's dirt worthiness?

"dirt worthy" is a relative term. The bike is 500+ lbs and has the tallest gearing of any modern Guzzi.

Its 8-inches of front travel and 21-inch front wheel, along with its nice monoshock rear suspension make it a joy on a rough paved or gravel road.

When things get tight and technical on un-maintained or slightly-maintained roads, it's really just too big and heavy and will wear you out.
