Leaking Rubber Hose
« on: March 13, 2015, 04:05:59 PM »
About 3/4 inch hose on top of engine has a crack in it and leaks a little oil.  My manuals don't show it so I don't know what to order.  Anybody got a pic or diagram?

The crack is clearly visible.  Looks like it's part of the evap. system.  Goes up under the tank.

3/4" would be the oil breather hose going to frame. best to get the stock part because of the tight bends.. make sure the check valve on the motor end isn't all rusty or anything.

Hmm, don't see it in either one of those diags.  Goes straight down into the engine box behind the cylinders.

Yes.  I'll have to take the tank off to get to it though.

You still haven't told us which model. There are quite a few breather/condensate return systems that vary between models.

Pete this is the special EV Paint shaker that has more vibration than a Harley, the owner wishes for an aftermarket rubber mounting kit so he can safely cruise below 2300 rpm around town.. If I remember right he's never seen over 4,000 rpm because it vibrates so violently..

So is it the main breather hose that fits on the pipe that comes out of the top of the bell housing and goes up to a spigot just behind the steering head? These are crack prone with age and heat.
