Transkontinental info?

Any of you fellas have any info on this Swiss company besides clutches? I think they might have built some frames and might have made some piston kits, and that's about it.

I think at one point in time (90's) they changed their name to TKC or something... At one time when I was buying Transkontinental clutches from Manfred at Raceco, I had a 2nd cousin who lives in Switzerland contact them to see if he could buy things direct. I don't know if he said the destination was USA, but he was unable to make purchases on my behalf. Yes there were some frames, Manfreds old bikes (with those frames) ended up being war horses on the AHRMA twins circuit.

here I am racing Bobby Griffiths on the Raceco Transkontinental bike back in 1990, you can just see on the tank the end of the word "Transkontinental" above bobby's right wrist.

The Moto Guzzi racing machines of Mike Tiberio (60) and Robert Griffiths run side by side speeding down Mid-Ohio’s long straight during the 1990 Circle Bell Pro Twins race. Tiberio finished ninth at Mid-Ohio that day and Griffiths 11th. Tiberio also edged Griffiths in the championship finished the season ranked seventh, three points ahead of Griffiths.

Tank you gents ! Mike, do you remember any engine parts they may have made ? Reason I'm asking is I'm thinking about purchasing a project, and want a heads up about what I'd be getting into.

Well it's simple Turin, they don't exist as company anymore.

I used to buy clutches and some other bits from them, not frames or engine parts though, I think they did buy some 90mm Cosworth pistons from me.

One of their nicest bits was rearsets, footrests bolted into tapped swingingarm pivot studs, I ended up making more the same in UK . think I may have a set lurking.  use Ago type long lever on box output, tie that to gear lever with rose joints. Alloy levers and pegs, levers bushed on peg bolt.
Simple, elegant and light as possible. Perfect spot for pegs on a racebike
Guess they used same on their own frames ?
